To those who think this couple hasn't done enough to the world to enjoy their life, you may not know how many schools were sponsored, houses were built, funds were raised, children were helped, poor people were supported by both Ellen and Portia, especially, Ellen. She doesn't only do these things in her show but also in her original life. And yes, they're wealthy but not the wealthy-mean-scrimp kind. She didn't receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom for nothing. And she's not the mother of the whole planet, she can't help every single country, individual or crisis. So, before judging someone, get to know what they've done first, it would help your jealous attitude.

I also believe its useless trying to save the gorillas because unless we are all willing to change our life styles drastically there will be no saving the gorillas and everything else. The natural world is disappearing at an alarming rate, there is over population, consumption etc... the earth cannot sustain this for long. We live in an over consumption world Costco, Walmart, Target...etc... Ellen herself promotes all her stuff from the show( the gift store) how much of that ends up in the landfills and so on. I really wish these stars would get educated before promoting things like this because their lavish lifestyle just contributes to the continuing environmental collapse

Gabriela Cluciuniuc people usually do it when it’s empty. It’s fun in the moment but in between there can’t be much, same with the highly extraordinary gorilla trip. Big gifts and big vacations, but how fun and nice are those everyday moments when there is a need for such huge things to be ”happy”?! I have no doubt the articles saying they struggle and have been for years are true because the personal connection these days between them comes off as not as easy going as before when they came out as a couple many years ago and the period around their wedding year. Just take the example of Portia being asked to not work anymore because Ellen wanted to provide for her, but every adult is in need of social connections that are just their own (such as having co-workers and feeling you do something and to be independent), and being tied to only have your social things come from your partner majority of the time is not a winning concept. It’s sideways to pretend 5-10 cars in the garage is a sign of love!
