I teach Adventist history and find that many don't know she was a twin. The one thing that really turned Elizabeth off to religion was how the family was treated when they were kicked out of the Methodist church due to their continued propagation of the Millerite message of the soon return of Jesus. This soured her for the rest of her life. Notice the birth date on Elizabeth's headstone was Nov. 18, 1826. We were recently there early this last October, and I photographed her headstone.

Everyone is SO CAUGHT up on "are these REAL pics?" It's crazy because they MISS the whole point of the story. How to MINISTER to family that aren't convicted of Christ's love. ALSO it's a GREAT example of WE ALL HAVE FREE CHOICE given to us FREELY by our Maker. And for twin sisters to have almost EXACTLY the same upbringing; we are COMPLETELY FREE to choose Christ OR not. Furthermore this shows what it's going to be like at the end of days that it takes FAITH to be convicted of TRUTH. Even after ALL of the miracles experienced by Ellen G White personally, her twin sister did NOT seem convicted? It is a WONDERFUL lesson on how we are to MINISTER to our unconvicted family.
