I remember this day well. I was there every week , friday nights, Saturday morning practice, and lived just up the road. I used to go with Jay & Bobby Bell, locals to Stanney Grange., who were quite heavily involved. in fact, I think I saw myself in the striped jumper as you came in to the pits after the race. Great race. :) Great to see this. Thanks for posting Gary.

I was at that meeting, as a Middlesbrough fan. Nice to see Mad Dog Dicko renewing old rivalries with Joe Owen. Joe was one of the best riders that the second division ever produced , despite being a Diamonds rider ! The silver helmet challenge between him and his brother Tom held at Cleveland Park was one of the best series of races I’ve ever seen. Best wishes to the both, and of course Martin Dixon (Mad Dog)

Joe owen was class on a speedway bike!when at Newcastle it was a absolute great night when he visited Ellesmere port ,one of the few riders to mix it and sometimes beat John Jackson

I've been to Ellesmere Port , when I went the side had John Jackson Steve Finch I think Chris Turner rode . ❤❤❤❤❤❤

When the commentator talks about Geoff Pusey bar on the ferry home from 1984 world final I was the chairman of said bar it was a good trip home
