It's actually really nice to see other people having an emotional time leaving home. When I left for uni I was very anxious and emotional but only ever heard people talking about how they were excited/not bothered. Also for anyone who is finding it more difficult it's good to remember all of the people/places you're going to miss are still there, you are going to see them again. When I left it felt very definitive until I went home for a weekend and realised nothing there had changed

That’s the thing though, is that you don’t know if you’ll ever see them again. Which is probably why so many people get emotional when having to leave their family/friends/loved ones. That’s why it is always good to keep in contact with them whenever you can.

For all my college freshman, Big Lots has really cheap outdoor string lights with plastic bulbs and they've lasted me three years so far! And they have white and brown strings to keep the aesthetic going :) As far as hanging tapestries, attach clothespins or binder clips to a thick command strip and clip those onto the tapestry. Curtains I don't have any personal experience with, but Lowe's sells magnetic curtain hangers and I've heard they work well! I hope this helps someone :)

Hiya! So for hanging stuff up I suggest asking teachers/getting what teachers use. A lot of the time for lightweight things teachers will just use a good tape or sticky putty (the blue/green stuff from elementary school)! For heavier stuff and things you want up all year they sometimes use literal hot glue from a hot glue gun. (If you use hot glue please do research to make sure you prevent wall damage) Just research methods commonly used by teachers! Or maybe even try asking one of the RA’s or other people who live in dorms!
