Its really cool to see somebody talk about this topic with such fascination. 800 million people are not hungry because we don't know enough about plants, we waste 30% of food worldwide and feed animals enough human food to feed a billion people, they are hungry because: capitalism. The reason we should understand plants is because its cool!!! which is an antidote to capitalism when you think about it deeply.
