That's what I don't like about this show as opposed to Jeopardy. Eventually the questions get too impossible where it stops being trivia. No one would know the question you went out on. Even with the Google earth globe I still can't figure it out. Good job man!

The fact that Madrid was opposite to New Zealand is a massive cheap shot. If the hole from Madrid deviates by just a few degrees, you end up in the Pacific.

Well that's specific to this era when the show had a skint budget. The classic era with Regis wasn't like this, even Meredith's era was mostly much fairer and had three 1m winners. Plus all that said, the payouts here seem to average above Jeopardy to me by a lot given the 1k and 2k runner up wins are kind of lame. The show could have dropped all the prize amounts and had easier questions so more people would get all of them, but people were enticed by the jackpot and it would have been hard to change the show's name. But yes, this era had crazy questions like this, I am surprised they didn't just try lowering the jackpot and making the questions more sane and just joking about the name being outdated. I think the show would have still had an audience without the 1m jackpot because Jeopardy can be too....regal, sometimes. But the jackpot issue resulted in this show having insane questions later on at this point yeah.
