Those lamps are boudoir lamps- smaller than parlour/living room lamps. The reason lamps in living rooms are supposed to be taller is due to the shadows they will cast. The lower/shorter boudoir lamps’ light is at a lower angle and taller is better for conversation/reading.

Nope they are living room lamps from the living room section they just appear smaller because the sofa is quite big! They will be even taller once the new side tables arrive.

I think you and Matt should paint a large picture over the sofa, using the pattern and colors in the pillows and ottoman. You don't have to be an artist. A canvas, a ruler and paint between the lines. Lol. Also, excellent DYI project for you two love birds while putting the final touches on the redecorating.

Elliot, 10:51 Look into repurposed wood or puting interesting tile on this wall to give visual interest - all the way to the ceiling. At 10:45 for the wall with the cable, have your dad cut and cap the cable flush with the wall and finish it with a cable plate. Then Google "Spine bookshelves" to cover and have a compact modern display of books for a linear look, etc (ideas online)

Try putting your large plant on one of your end tables not in use. The height will look good!

You can rarely go wrong with a mirror Dont overlook something small maybe a fleur de li or candle sconces to draw attention. A Tudor rose could be nice thinking and writing lol
