This feels like when Actors were annoyed with Rappers being cast in movies. The pattern I see is for them the Actors & Journalists. They have an expertise, skill, talent & passion for what they're doing. They feel some type of way competing for Jobs & income with rappers or anyone that's just popular with no skill, talent or passion who is in their space solely for financial reasons only. this is really it. you said it best. we must bring up capitalism. profit. and specific skills in one area isn't always profitable in an art, even tho that is what it "should" be about. artists want to be respected in their specific area of art. they put in the work, overtime, and dedication. but when the art is morphed into purely entertainment and not the craft or history of it, it can be frustrating. your actual skill has been phased out due to the current state. i get Elliot. it's kinda like when you're driving and are in this loooong line to get off the freeway. mad traffic. and someone, outta nowhere, swoops in on the right of you and bypassed the time and frustration you just endured to get to this same spot. they're in front of you or a car behind you immediately.

I agree with Elliott in regard to Cam and some other artists who are hosting Podcasts. Cam gives horrible interviews. They are not in-depth, intriguing, or insightful. He leaves so much on the plate when the interview is over. Joe Budden is different. Not only is he a phenom and a pioneer in this space, but he's also media trained. Joe was a host on HOT97. Shannon Sharpe was on CBS Sports before he got with Skip. He also needs improvement in interviews as well. That's why he has the cue cards. He leaves a lot on the plate too and doesn't expound on guests' answers.

It's the same argument of why photographers are at times irritated with people who aren't photographers taking shitty photos with their iphones and labeling themselves professional photographers. Cam hasn't put the work in to be labeled as a certified journalist. In no way would I even put Cam on the same level of a journalist like that of Elliot or Angie.
