Years ago, I was blessed beyond words to end up on a gig where Ellis was the featured artist (I'm a freelance saxophonist and this gig was with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra). I'd never heard of him before then, but it didn't take more than a few measures of the first tune for me to realize what a special artist he was. He was so powerful, that there were a few instances of me getting distracted from reading my parts! Getting to hear him and getting to be a small part of his musical expression are truly highlights in my career thus far.

Juan, I can certainly agree with your being distracted by this wonderful talented Man!!! I have never heard of him before now, but I too was blown away. I had the same experience singing behind the late, great Gospel Singer, La Shun Pace, while our Choir (Showers of Blessings) toured with her back in the 90s. She was so anointed, and hit notes in her Natural Sprinto Soprano that made me awestruck, taking my eyes off of our Director at times. So blessed for these moments....

I’ve seen this video on a facebook by chance almost 5 years ago. And i’ve had very depressed, hopeless times at that days, before hearing this beautiful. When i were hearing this music, i had to say to myself “There so many beautifulnesses are existing in this world, and my life! Why should i give up my life so easily like i’ve been doing! I still have so many chances like hearing this!” And now, i’m hearing this beautiful melody by chance again. With myself in a brightful, hopeful day. And keep going to my real dream step by steps.
