Happiness is like a cult hit for RV !!!... It's a very vocal heavy song bcoz SM wanted to establish them as a Vocal and Perf. group! Many people didn't digest it when it was released in 2014 (that's what i heard bcoz of the song structure and SM's issues), but as years went by now it's one of the favourites of ReVeluvs, especially bcoz of Wendy's Iconic 'Shine on Me' !!

I actually got to see this before I went to work last night; I definitely don't regret using Patreon for the first time for your channel! It has perks. That shirt is pretty cool. Red Velvet was strong since debut. You looked completely blown away from the start. Even though this was before Yeri joined the group, it's still one of my favorite Red Velvet songs. Please, do a deep dive into Red Velvet albums. They are purely art. No other girl group can pull it off and they have a lot of R&B bops. I don’t know if you are familiar to their style but they have 2 main concepts: the red (poppy sound, upbeat and happy) and the velvet (sultry, r&b, ballad, sensual).

Right at the start of the MV - around 2:05 on this video - you can see Yeri at the bottom, even though she hadn't debuted with the other four due to her age. She was always meant to debut with the group, but it's commonly believed that RV ended up debuting earlier than intended due to two major issues going on with SM's girl groups at the time - Jessica leaving SNSD, and Sulli going on hiatus from f(x) - so SM debuted Red Velvet early in order to create a distraction, and bring about a bit of happiness along the way. To this date, it remains one of if not my absolute favourite song by them.

Thank you for your reaction and for loving all Red Velvet’s sides ! I’ve always loved their uniqueness, unexpectedness and “weirdness”. Regarding what you said in your reaction to ‘Russian Roulette’, I think you should check out their ‘Dumb Dumb’ and/or ‘LP’. ‘Dumb Dumb’ is kind of similar to ‘Russian Roulette’ for the fact that they repetitively use the word ‘Dumb’ as a “base” for the melody throughout the song (and tbh it’s so catchy lmaoo). There are also interesting chord changes at some point and there’s a heavy use of brass instruments too. ‘LP’ is not a title song, therefore there is no MV. But, it’s a song out of their latest release and it’s honestly my favorite from the EP. It’s a laidback song with bossa nova vibes, including Mario-like sounds and brass instruments, as well as a freaking saxophone solo (a real one I swear, much longer than the synthesizer from ‘Russian Roulette’) !

Catching up with the updates. Came here right after listening to Red Velvet's Bing Bing, which has a part that gives me EXO Love Me Right/Daft Punk's Get Lucky vibes. The other day you wondered why K-pop songs usually didn't have instrumental breaks, and I was thinking after hearing your comments about the vocal melody as chord structure in this song, I was expecting your reaction when Wendy does her "vocal bridge" and you made that face. I approve. It's been 5 years since this song came out, and it could easily be a B-side for Zimzalabim. I am sleep deprived. Thanks for reacting! Edit: the color of that tee is awesome. But because I'm sleepy, I heard it was a chicken sh*tting lasers instead of shooting them. Still impressive.

some time ago i was curious to know how musicians say about kpop so i watched quite some of it, and it's weird that actually make me glad that i'm not _(no offense)_ a musician, to over-analyze music.. lol.. i dont know, i thought most kpop songs are weird too but later i thought that those 'weirdness' was actually creativity, i wasnt creative enough to see that but now i kinda enjoy it. the melody once _weird_ but somehow stuck in my head and liking it. including this _Red Velvet - Happiness_ song. also other stuff that once see it, started to see so much around was inspired/influenced by kpop direct or indirectly like fashion, tv show, food, video production, tech, etc.. lol
