I hope you guys have a wonderful time in India. Biryani is truly the food for the Gods!!! I feel so sorry for the millions around the world that will die, and never get to eat a plate of Biryani. I think it is so sad. I really mean that! My introduction to Biryani was on my flight from the Middle East to Mumbai. I remember the whole cabin had this incredible aroma, I just couldn't wait to get my plate. And it was the best thing I have ever eaten! I asked if I could get another plate but they were out. That's all I ate most of time for my two week holiday in India. And yes, some Biryanis are better than others, at least for me. I have had it at our only Indian restaurant in my city here in the US, and it didn't taste as good as it did in India. I am now trying to go back to India just so that I can gouge on all the delicious food in India. I have been trying to learn everything about Biryani. I have heard so many say that Hyderabad Biryani is the best and I had a version of it in Goa which was out of this world good! But just snacks at some small restaurants in Mumbai were so delicious too!. We don't have delicious meals like that in my city here in the US. Just the garbage at McDonald's that passes for 'food' and outrageously expensive. A burger/fries/sugar drink is $10 at McDonald's. I am dying to get back to India so I can eat and eat. It is unbearable watching you guys eat all those delicious meals. Now I heard the South has extra chilli hot food which I am not so used to. Although the Hyderabad Biryani was not too chilli hot.

And please don't settle for the Pani puri we do in Tamilnadu. Try Gol gappas from Delhi, Pani puris in Mumbai and Puchkaas in Kolkata. (Gol papppas and Puchkaas are slightly specialized variations of pain puris specific to these cities or regions.) And yes, The most underrated Briyani is the Dindugal briyani and probably the best in the f***ing world, period!!!!!!

The food you get on the road side are the most affordable ones.. sometimes they'll sell home made foods... When I was searching for a job in Chennai I couldn't afford breakfast in a restaurant.. I used to finish my stomach full of breakfast within 20 rupees from roadside shops.. ❤
