12.58 is called Oil Cake or Kawum in Local. I suggest you try a treat called Lavaria. It looks like the same as Aasmi but more moist and the filling is made of grated coconut fried with honey. Ideal for breakfast and the tea in the evening

The yellowy round sweet is known as "Mun guli" which translates into Geen gram balls. The sweet "Asmee" is does not consist of coconut. It's made of somekind of a flour,hardened and colored sugar syrup.

"Aasmi" not steam hopper. It is made with a combination rice flour and coconut milk, which is mixed with juice extracted from davul kurundu leaves (cinnamon leaves.or Ladies Fingers extract) and then deep fried in coconut oil.[

Great concept to have a kitchen/restaurant with home-cooked meals, always the best & ladies are great...13.14 is similar to Kerala's uniappam, soft cake made of red rice flour, jaggery, coconut (very delish). Fish sellers bring their fresh catch to sell to houses as well, very convenient! Enjoy!

Beli mal is the tea brewed by boiling the flower of the beal (beli) fruit. It’s usually had with a piece of jaggery. Assmi is a sweet meat made during the new year. So are the other types of kevum you had.

Guess you are familiar with camomile tea made with camomile flowers. “Beli” is a tropical flower of a fruit bearing tree and belimal are the flowers from which tea is made that heals digestive problems. The fruit is bright yellow when ripe and has a shell when cracked contains a gluey bright yellow pulp inside that also helps to resolve digestive problems . e

Mysterious ball is grated coconut and green grams powder with sugar caramelized as well condiments.sri lankan call it ( naran kawum). And other disk shaped cake is oil cake actually (kawum). Different type of oil cake have also. I think you were drunk aegle marmelos leaves and shells are herble drink with juggery.

You want be able to eat ' Assmi' anywhere in the world. because the mixture get mixed with kind of cinnamon oil extrct from endemic oil called "Daul kundu"..you may taste various sweets from various places...of course recipes of sweets are readitional and community wise different...Asami is a Simhaleas sweet....there are hell of a lot. You may taste Tamils recipeies sweet in Jaffn. ...watalappan is basically mulsim sweet..

Jaggery and Kitul are not the same. Jaggery is unrefined sugar made from sugarcane juice and they literally boil the juice to make jaggery. Kitul is actually palm sugar treacle and made as a byproduct when they make palm sugar. The treacle floats on top and they use it as a sweetener. There is also treacle which floats as a byproduct on top when they make jaggery from cane sugar juice but Kitul is a palm product and actually treacle. Jaggery is unrefined sugar from sugarcane juice.
