Well I tell you what JP, that was a cracking film. Loved that - so many birds to see and film, especially loved the Barn Owl shots at the end but it was just great throughout. You made yourself available to luck and luck showed up. Stoat was a cracking bonus, but the highlight for me was the locked-off footage of the hovering kestrel showing how still the head remains. Another fantastic vid buddy . Elmley is one of my favourites . Fantastic that the short eared owls have arrived there again. Any luck with the little owls. They can be quite hard to spot in that old brick building

Brilliant video! We chatted to you both when you were sitting on the bench before the owls appeared. We were just about to leave when we saw the SEOs from the car park and then had brilliant views of two Barn Owls from the car from the entrance track. Great ending to the day.

Great video and insight in to Elmley. I’m thinking of getting the year membership; do you think it’s worthwhile? Is it the sort of place you could visit a few times a month?

Hi and thanks for watching and the kind comment! I’d say yes, it’s a huge expanse of land (there is a downloadable map on their site ) and a lot of walking there are lots of different birds to see and the owls, raptors and bearded tits ( see my bearded tit video that was there ) are reason enough with out the other wildlife imo, we tend to go a few times a year. However it looks like it’s now 6 pounds for a full day PP next year so it depends on just how many times you visit which will even the cost out, also they have “friends” events so the odd late evening early morning days etc especially for the friends of Elmley members…. So in short, if you go a few times a month then the membership is a deal especially if you are a couple 😉👍
