ELO - New World Rising Audiophile Remaster

I used the audio from the On The Third Day CD Remastered edition. However I always felt that this version was too compressed and the stereo sound field was too narrow. So I expanded the dynamic range and stereo sound field. I then remastered the track for best sound quality possible. I believe this sounds much better as you can hear the instruments more clearly and bringing this track to audiophile sound quality it deserves for the first time.

I love early ELO. It's so ambitious and different. Have heard Jeff in interviews refer to it as pretentious. It so isn't. It's a genius talent in full flight.

I always thought they were doing a better job integrating the string section into the overall sound in a better, more natural way in this period. FTM was, although Jeff's songs were getting better, the string arrangements (with some exceptions, like Tightrope or Shangri-La) turned into blocks that supported the sound, and weren't an integral part of it.

Sorry brother, but this doesn't sound as good as the original. You've lost the music's sharpness, which is integral to the song's edgy tone (which, of course, juxtaposes so brilliantly with the soft-toned, happy lyrics). Probably best not to try to "fix" Jeff Lynne's work. ;)
