Such a great relationship - this, added to the fact that Luke Thompson is just so delightfully expressive have made Benedict one of my favs in the show, in contrast to the books where he is my least favourite Bridgerton so far (haven't read the last 3 books yet).

This is such a thoughtful reply and yessss!!! I read his book recently and I didnt like it that much. I think that relationship is problematic. If he really loved Sophie he would have married her right from the start, no questions asked haha! Instead, he wanted her to be his mistress? Come on! But I like the fact that it was Sophie all along and the reveal was good. I guess have thesame feelings as you! Benedict in the show is way better and way more charismatic. 🥰 (Im now starting at Eloise’s book!)

@@NinaC I just finished book number 3 and am so shocked you both didn’t think Benedict’s book was as good as the first two. I admit I was sceptical when I started reading it as I felt no prior ‘bond’ with him before starting his book like I had with Daphne and Anthony. But I feel his devotion to Sophie went above and beyond what his siblings did for their partners. Both D + A said and proved they were devoted to Simon and Kate respectively, but neither were forced to ‘prove it’ as such. Neither Daphne nor Anthony had to defy social standards, risk the shunning of Violet and battle criminal accusations and an evil stepmother out of love for their spouse. Not to mention Benedict accepting Sophie’s decision that she wouldn’t change how she told him of her identity, simply stating he loved her, so romantic! In my humble opinion, Benedict is the most devoted Bridgerton to his partner in the book serious thus far and I would say is ranked as my fave Bridgerton right now, I can’t wait to start the fourth book!
