Eloise is just wonderful. She has the old time traditional Broadway flair . May she have many years of musical entertaining.

Back when I was in college, one of the professors was Jim Wise, who was the composer of Dames at Sea. The year he retired, we did Dames at Sea as a tribute to him. Of course with college students doing the show, it wasn't up to a professional snuff, but we did the best we could and Jim seemed to appreciate it. His collaborator Robin Miller even came to see it. This was in the 80's at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

I know you most likely won't reply, but I have a question. In tap dancing, do certain moves have names? Or is it just "Tap like.... This" and that's it?
@jordannickel-dubin98514 жыл бұрын
@@sorrel272 Hey! I absolutely will reply! :-) Yes, every movement has a name. It does sometimes seem like it's random, but everything has a name. :-)

Does anyone know what the white things on their tap shoes are? Did they stick something on them or is the leather just wearing down? Amazing dancers by the way :)

Can someone tell me why they have duct tape on their tap shoes ?? x
@luanvictor96328 жыл бұрын
+chloe ohara I was wondering the same thing, i'm tap dancer and i have never used duct tape on my tap shoes, maybe the floor is slipping too much.
@audreysenior64548 жыл бұрын
+Luan Victor Duct tape protects the shoes, at least that's what they tell me at my dance studio. These actors are probably wearing their shoes for the show, so maybe they want to protect them? It could also protect the floor if these floors aren't made for taping? Hope this helps :)
@chloeohara63528 жыл бұрын
+Audrey Senior thank you, I was just curious 😊😊
@hellosunshine3057 жыл бұрын
Chloe O'Hara It's to prevent slipping! If you are in a studio without Marley on the floor it gets really slick-- especially tap shoes.

I realize that John Bolton is executing the steps, but he just looks like a terrible dancer. Like a deranged, uncoordinated string bean. Normally I enjoy his performances. This one . . . not so much. Maybe it's because it's a rehearsal.
@starman24553 жыл бұрын
so I've rewatched his part so many times and I think I can tell you why he looks like a noodle while dancing. It's because all of the other dancers have more defined arm movements, like more coordinated or think more like how a ballerina would hold their arms while performing. John Bolton kinda has more of a loose sort of floppy arm situation, and the fact that he's wearing baggier clothes doesn't help. so basically it's just a combo of he has noodle arms and his clothes are baggy but I still love his performance in this show.
@staceypetrocelli35272 жыл бұрын
I assume he was cast for his other talents and probably had to learn tap for the role. But in his role as the Captain, it's in character not to be the best dancer in the troupe.
@laurenjcoates5 жыл бұрын
I wasn’t super impressed with her acting or singing, but she’s certainly an amazing tapper
