Favorite Kaizen Quotes: “The problem with Wokeism is that it literally just sews more unhappiness, it doesn’t produce new things, It doesn’t solve anything, It’s just a constant endless list of grievances. …it's just fundamentally an ideology of disempowerment.” Kaizen “Everyone likes meritocracy until they realize they’re an idiot” Kaizen “You’ve got to look in the mirror, but it’s hard to look in the mirror, so we would rather look out the window.” Kaizen

I am currently being criticized for posting clips on my fb page that are logical and true and verifiable. And guess who I am advocating for? Elon Musk, that’s who! A friend I’ve had for twenty years is threatening to unfriend me! Whenever that happens I say this, ‘if you have to ask for love, it is not love you will receive, and it is not worth having!’🤷♀️

Great discussion. My personal political journey resonates very similarly with Kaizen (regarding Trump). I currently live in San Francisco, work in biotech, but felt angered by the demise of California and SF by the Blue. After the Pandemic, I started paying attn more to politics and see how manipulated the media is. And given the two Presidential candidates, I chose the one most suited to run the country.

I agree with Farzad. I didn't understand the change in the media until I started investigating the tesla stock. I had to reevaluate a lot of what I believe. Now my friends think I'm nuts. Slowly, I think I'm turning them.. takes time. Patience and timing.

Yes! We’ve been manipulated since WW2, where whomever it is got a taste of power and have been cashing in on the public trust for power and money ever since. The public is willing to be manipulated as long as the pain is tolerable. It’s in our power to stop this, but I’m afraid we never will.

Great conversation, gentlemen. This has been going on for several thousand years. In ancient Athens, Socrates was sentenced to death for corrupting the minds of the youth by trying to get them to learn to think for themselves instead of simply accepting the propaganda of the Sophists. I am an 80 year old Vietnam war veteran and have been reading and discussing Great Books for 60 years and I am fully convinced that the true and the good is only found through rational discussion among us. I am optimistic that this can happen, but it will only be possible, as Kaizen points out, through education. In other words, fix K-12 and the colleges to include how to think, not just what to think, and to keep learning for the rest of your life.

Example of giving a bad idea a forum is “defund the police”. People were allowed, without limit, to praise this concept. It was initially popular, but fairly quickly, society decided that “defund the police” was a bad idea. People are still allowed to profess the concept, but far fewer people respond positively. I am glad we did not suppress this bad idea.

34:00 It's not even advertisers who are the problem. They really only care about engagement, and I think the vast majority of people understand that ads are not related to the content they appear next to. What's really happening is that activists are going to big advertisers and essentially blackmail them. They can hurt the reputation of a company by finding ads that appear next to controversial content, and with the help of their friends in the media manufacture a scandal out of it. For the companies the math is easy, they lose less customers if they avoid advertising next to "bad" content, and the harm this does is not their problem (at least in the short term). Managers are especially easy to convince, because they only get punished for harm they cause directly, long term negative consequences are not their problem, even if those eventually bankrupt the company.

We the average people need technical people like yourselves to be our "Truth Seeking Agents" to use AI to pull out and condense data like the 1500 page cr/omnibus bill Kaizen talked about. This could be accomplished as "journalist" or "apps" or some hybrid that you develop. This should provide both short form to inform and long form to verify. The vast majority of people don't have the time or ability to understand and learn AI but want to have access to it.

❤ The changes in body & mind in whole began year's ago. The transition gradually creeped in and started going in the wrong direction in education when the "No one left behind " experiments were conducted with mostly grade school children. Within time young adults were manipulated to believe topics that affect the psych its okay to change your sex and the adults? Running the show and telling the student's don't tell your parents what you study in school. Taking the power away from the parents and criminalizing the parents for attemptjng to take their power back. We also have the immigrants from WW11 who were told upon arriving that they must vote democratic. Then you have the absentee parents who must keep up with Joneses. Who mostly lost touch with reality. Thank God that Trump won and we have the chance to reverse all the wrongs to make the changes. Congratulations 🎊 to Elon Musk 😂 he will do it 😊

The list of difficult subjects offered feel like the ones there now are some permission to debate, and yes, maybe it's the things most suppressed that are most important, so... looking at the economic system and critiques of capitalism. It feels very uncomfortable to even write in the moment, but especially with the coming disruption with humanoid robots, classic economic theory seems present to be discussed. Edit because I viewed this after my comment: Marxism was actually addressed as a non starter for discussion because a bad idea in the conversation, but do I even know what it is?

Also the hysteria of high achiever syndrome don't help much right? Like if you keep seeing that you gotta be awesome, pretty, successful (rich) or such... you will have been looking in the wrong direction a lot, guided by a mindset that is also fucked up, looking at the world and our existence as a binary thing. That is the only "binary" thing that matters perhaps? Furthermore, "You’re a ghost driving a meat-coated skeleton made from stardust; what do you have to be scared of?" (just learned this one today tbh)
