Elon Musk faces criticism over BEE laws

While reaction continues to pour in following the remarks by US President Trump on SA's land policy, some in the business community are raising questions about some of the public positions by his ally Elon Musk.
When TikTok was facing a ban there was a view that if it wants to operate in the country, half must be owned by a US citizen, at some point reports suggested that Musk was considering buying it.
Now with talk of Starlink possibly operating in SA, the Communications Committee chairperson says the company will have no choice but to comply with BBBEE laws.

South Africa is doing to Starlink what USA is doing to TikTok. Elon Musk and Trump have no right to complain when they are openly harassing TikTok owners in USA. The same Elon Musk went to Zimbabwe to cut a Starlink deal with a questionable character named Chivayo, a businessman who is very close to President Mnangagwa. I am not in support of BEE, but Elon Musk can't tell me he has no problem with Chivayo, his Zimbabwean partner who is accused of rigging elections and of being corrupt, compared to thousands of honest, capable and experienced non white South Africans who've been in Business for the longest time and have proven their worth. He wants black people to buy Starlink, but he does not want to empower black people? Black people can't just be consumers and spectators.
