The rain sensor needs to use more cameras, the side can see some rain on the side of the car maybe. Also watching how wet the tarmac is, making it more alert combined with what the weather channels are saying.

Every other rainsensor also uses only a tiny section of the Windshield to detect rain. They dont need to know if the windshield is covered in droplets. It just needs to know if it is raining or if there is an Event that put water or dirt on the Windshield. Cameras and AI can recognize any of that. Rainsensors only detect droplets in the small Section behind the Mirror.

I'm tempted to leave a comment on the wiper issue: It just occurred to me (timestamp 12:00) when you show the image of windshield with and after wipe....agin it's a human thing being bothered by droplets. For AI it's way less of an issue: At night I prefer driving WITH FSD especially when it rains. Weirdly...my car will detect pedestrian earlier than I can see them. Now don't think a moment that I am distracted and looking more at the screen than outside ;-)

I have waited as long as I can to buy a Tesla van with 10+ passengers. In the next two months I will buy an ICE van. My village needs it badly. I have 260 shares of Tesla which i will sell to buy the van. It's frustrating to me. Even the robovan would not have worked for me. It needs to have supervised FSD due to all the weather, road, and wildlife conditions. Especially carrying passengers that I would be responsible for. Also, there is no way that I could buy insurance for it because the insurance companies have a 16 passenger limit commercially that I could afford. Once FSD is complete and Tesla is allowed to sell insurance in the three states near me (WA, ID, and MT); then I think Tesla insurance is going to have to sell full replacement, etc. insurance.

I think NDT is misrepresented a lot of the time, kind of like Elon on the other side. I've listened to NDT and though I don't agree with some of his opinions naturally, I've seen he is often misquoted on his gender ideology when checking his original comments. His opinion is that he wants people to be free to be who they are, regardless of if their identity is found to be biological or social (homosexuality), and that the science should not be interpreted by politicians to limit people's freedoms.

Go drive a 2010 Toyota Camry, it has such a sensor and it wipes only when rain droplets reach a certain density. It is infuriating why Tesla still persists with this stupid quest to solve auto wipers with cameras which aren’t suited to the job.
