As many as necessary! It’s Elon’s money and that’s how he does his things! He tests them fast and often, blows them up fast and often until he irons out the hiccups and get it right and then he keeps improving forever! One day they will work out how to clear up space junk before it’s too late!

25 Awesome. Really looking hopefully for a dynamic landing technique, where the Starship touches down vertically then extends two long nitrogen charged cylinders and lays down 80°. Gyroscope and Draco engines then rightt the ship for return liftoff.

Raptor 4 might do well to explore the use of socket fit conduit connectors that employ mating tapered male and female terminals that are held together with only a single stitch weld that can easily be removed with an arc gouging electrode.

Why wouldn't spaceX shoot the first rocket into space with the booster, and then supply it for a mission to Mars so that enough fuel goes to Mars to be able to return, you actually disconnect the rocket from the booster in the orbit around Mars and can dock again when you return to come back to Earth. This allows the booster to do its work like a rocket in space. More complete rockets could then be put into orbit around the Earth to prepare multiple flights at the same time to fly to Mars at the right time with fuel and payload instead of a single Starship. These Star ships could then be equipped with a wide landing gear so that a number of them also remain on Mars as a backup.

Starship will never get to the moon let alone mars ,, a mars mission needs a moon base that can put a starship together on the moon where the fuel storage will be located 😮 along with all space travle needs😮

all seven BE fours fired "cy-mew-tay-nee-uslee".. i see you still got it! keep it up in "twi twi five"! (just a friendly little troll there.. you really have stuck with it, and i admire your dedication to reporting on spacex!) i do have an ovservation about the JRTI drone-ship's water deluge system. the four outlets for the water are positioned around and on the outside of the landing bull's-eye. this obviously means that the water does not protect the metal deck at its most wear-prone point, the middle of the deck. the water just sprays out and away from where the falcon is landing.. a little curious don't you think? love to hear some explanation of this apparent shortcoming

Think about it the nozzles are positioned in a way that the center of the bullseye gets 4 x the water as if it was just one nozzle in the very center. As well as cooling the surrounding area outside the bullseye, the center your worried about gets 4x the water without nozzles being in the way.

can someone assist? Im wanting to witness the next Starship launch however in this episode its announced launch date Jan 10th, but when I go to SpaceX website theres nothing under schedule confirming a Starship launch. Im hesitant to purchase airline tickets and book a hotel room for several days. How can I assure this is a valid date. Would it be official once they post it on their website vs relying on this video??

According to a NOTAM published by the Air Traffic Data Exchange Network for the Caribbean region, Flight 7 is targeted to liftoff from Texas at 4:00 pm CST on January 10, 2025. So if they informed the airplane's industry, this is definetely planned date. But You must understand, that this is always a subject of potential change. There might be unexpected problems, lounch may be moved into another day, especialy if last 10 seconds of countdown will go wrong. Once they fired wather courtine, if they get hold on last seconds, they cannot continiue anymore on the same day, as they need to make full the water tanks.

I shared the gas cooled tiles Idea with Space X not knowing they had already considered Metal tiles. What I had in mind was the older tiles with gas coolant lines in the epoxy, but still I look forward to seeing the test flight.

The extra weight might be an issue. Perhaps some weight can be saved from using fuel as coolant. I think it's clear that glueing tiles is not an option for reusability and reliability. Experience shows missing tiles equals a catastrophic end for entering earth's atmosphere. All space craft should be Experimenting with better heat protection.

To get man on MARS StarShip need to launch 1 or 2 time a week launch 100+. Most of the 2025 launches will be NO return. Got to get work on 2 in space work on a 36 ship Space Ring Transport for MARS and the MOON and the Deport/HUB and 2 cluster, 5 ships, and 3 mega clusters, 14 ships for Mars. Will be needing 100 + refueling tankers. we are looking at 250 ship launch by the end of 2026. Space X and NASA must build 5 of these Space Rings. One for the moon orbit, one orbit Mars, The other 3 will be human transports to and from Mars. This will transport 100 to 300 passages. With Nuclear engine can transport 500 because of a shorter transport time will not need as many human supplies. It's been reported that Germany have is building 10MW small Nuclear generator in a 40 foot container.
