It was the very same John Stuart Mill who argued it isn't enough for speech to be safe from government censorship -- it needs to be safe from powerful private actors and mobs too. It would be entirely consistent with the intent of the First Amendment if corporate platforms -- especially those enjoying the protection of Section 230 -- were prohibited from censoring the opinions of their users. The simplest way to accomplish this would be to nationalize them so that 1a automatically applied.

So far Musk has been transparent on what his intentions are. They may be lies, but unlike other oligarchs who hide behind 'foundations' (Soros, Gates etc...) to hide their nefarious intentions, Musk is out in the open for all to see.
