They already do to a extent, you can utilize drones with a WiFi deauther and a handshake sniffer and/or duplicate/fake WiFi network that you control and essentially you can fly that drone on to or near a building and ‘hack’ their WiFi network and do what you want and steal what you want. That’s a way over simplification but the same thing can be done to duplicate peoples car keys and steal their car and if you wanted to you could go Ukraine mode and RCXD people. Thankfully that stuff is somewhat complicated and you gotta be somewhat smart AND know that those things are even possible and most people don’t fall into both of those categories especially most criminals so it’s basically possible now and could be automated but again you need to be even smarter to do that and it’s far more complex so anyway there’s nothing stopping a smart and well informed person with bad intentions

To be completely honest, I would rather have two dogs walking with me than robots if I was concerned about my protection. But that's just the current paradigm. Dogs understand their role of protection while fulfilling the role of a companion. I used to live for years in Los Angeles and I had ZERO problems while I was walking with my shepherd. And there was no one that felt threatened by just simply having a dog with you.

It would cost a fortune. It would constantly need charging. It would need repairs. It might be unpredictable. It would probably break stuff. It would probably make a lot of noise stomping around. It would get in the bloody way constantly, and it would probably take far longer to do something than it would take me to do it instead. We're probably about 100 years away from robots being good enough to actually be useful in a domestic capacity, but by that point we would have passed the singularity and those robots would be an actual threat to us because their capabilities and artificial intelligence would likely far surpass our own.

Population needs to be in balance with jobs, resources, nature and the environment. Having a bigger population in any country than the country can support makes no sense. Access to food, water, shelter, energy and jobs should guide population levels. The worlds population is still expected to add another billion people to feed, clothe and produce pollution. Humans are crowding out all other species of plants and animals. Education and birth control are key to reducing poverty and hunger. Having a child that you can not provide for yourself is cruel and irresponsible. We need solutions not just sympathy. Endless population growth is not sustainable on a finite planet. Every country needs to "TRY" to be more self sufficient. When there are not enough resources to sustain a population something has to give. Countries need to focus on quality of life for their citizens and not just quantity of life for cheap labor. Why import fossil fuels when wind and solar energy can be produced locally and solar energy can power electric vehicles. We need solutions not just sympathy.

Robot assistants would not necessarily take over jobs but do things that help increase your efficiency. Clerks that stock items can have a robot that lift heavy loads and reach higher shelves. CNA can have robots help lift and turn grandma so they can change her and clean her.
