Quem criou metal com samba foi o Igor Cavalera (fora Nação Zumbi). Chaos A.D. já tem bateria de samba em várias faixas; Eloy segue esse estilo. Eloy é talentoso demais e talvez seja mais técnico que o Igor; porém não criou essa tendência. E... Não tem nada de metal nessa performance. Ele só tocou samba, bossa nova e maracatu com pontes e viradas jazzadas. E fez bem porque samba, bossa nova, maracatu, forró e música brasileira em geral é dahora.

This is pure samba. We call it samba enredo, usually played by samba schools . But in Brazil it needs an entire drumline to do this. He is doing it all by himself lol! Even for us brazilian, this is crazy!

To say this solo is absolutely insane is an understatement. There are drummers over there who can play insanely fast and really complicated stuff. You can mention Jordison (God bless him), or Duplantier, or Mangini, or Minneman, for example, just for starters, but, as some other people have already commented, none of them, as far as I have seen them play, can even remotely incorporate all this Brazilian stuff, and, man, no matter the way you look at it, that stuff is a game-changer. I'm not going to say that Casagrande is, right now, the best drummer in the world or bullshit like that; in the end, all of this is pretty personal perception. What I can certainly say is that Eloy lives in Mount Olympus of drum playing and I cannot see for the life of me how much better anyone can play drums. Parabéns, Eloy!!🤘🤘🤘

Incredible! I never saw any HATER of ELOY! And THATS SO GOOD. Mostly of the Haters are guitarists, looks like drummers are so united and they enjoy and they feel happy for the other drummers. And... about Eloy playing... What can I say that I haven´t said before? He is complete and creative. He plays jazz too, and it feels like JAZZ. It´s not that Jazz-ish thing like a metal our some other genre drummer trying to play it. He has a lot of control of his dynamics and speed on his fist. Incredible Fist control and I met him during a Sepultura Tour. A humble and pretty much Shy "kid". He´s making history. Let the drummer speaks for him and congratulations to all the drummers. Na realidade, ele tá em evidência há muito tempo, desde que entrou no Sepultura. A questão é que o Slipknot é maior comercialmente que o Sepultura e, consequentemente, da ao nome dele um alcance maior e faz com que mais pessoas o conheçam. Se eu te falar em Darkside, por exemplo, um baterista que, pra mim, tá no nível do Eloy em termos de criatividade, você não vai saber quem é, pois ele toca no Kriegsmachine e no MGLA, duas bandas de Black Metal. O trampo do Darkside, principalmente no Kriegsmachine, é excelente, também. Acho que pro metal, o Darkside pode entregar qualquer coisa que o Eloy entrega, mas a questão é que o Eloy não é só metal. Eloy é mais completo. Portnoy, também, se tocasse num Slipknot da vida, seria um nome bem mais reconhecido. Acho que o Dream Theater tem um público muito mais nichado. Conclusão: a banda que o cara tá ajuda muito.
