Moorcock's Gloriana (World Fantasy Award winner) is written as an ode to Peake's Gormenghast and may be worth a read. The ending is extremely iffy in my opinion but otherwise it is very well-written as a pastiche of Peake and Edmund Spenser's The Faerie Queene.

I loved the Elric series. I wish I would have kept the books. They're worth quite a bit now.

Just found your channel Logan. I find it quite interesting. I did read the Elric series way back when and quite enjoyed them. He did write of some other interesting characters too if you want to delve into some of his other writings. Corum comes to mind. I believe that there were four books in that series. Another author of that time that you may want to check out is Roger Zelazny and his Chronicles of Amber series. It's quite good!

Huge Tolkien and Peake fan here as well. Poul Anderson's The Broken Sword is on my reread list. Great review. I am currently aiming to reread this. The first time around, I liked Elric of Melnibone but then it went a bit downhill for me. Interested in trying again because Michael Moorcock is such a huge influence and perhaps I just didn't read them in the right frame of mind. Hopefully I like it and continue with the other omnibus volumes. Happy holidays and happy reading!

Man, I've wanted to read these books but I've never seen any of them in stores. I guess you have to order them. :/ Hate to hear you didn't like Piers Anthony; coincidentally I just last month picked up a copy of On a Pale Horse cuz it looked sorta interesting. I've heard such horrible things about his work though that I'm kinda worried. XD
