ELRS V3.0 hex update for SPi receivers

ELRS V3.9 update for SPi receivers is finally here! Big shoutout to Phobos who was relentless, working on this Hex file for us. So do remember to give him a sub and support!
With the ELRS V3.0 hex file we are now able to run V3.0 for our SPi receivers aka our Tiny Whoop and Toothpick/Micro drones. Im quite pleased with how it turned out and with its impressive range, it really brings our tiny whoops and micros to the next level.
Also note that the hex file is updated using Betaflight 4.4

Thanks bruddah. Yes bro!!! Its cause the 4.4 is still buggy as its not an official release, I've tested it and had quite a number of issues. So just stick to 4.3 or 4.3.1 for now.

No sir!! The rates are stock from factory as HM has already tuned them. I keep them as-is, especially when its new. So viewers can see what it is capable of out of the box.

YES! Its the same FC and yes, just reflash with the hex file and use BF 4.3 All the FCs using this same hex file. i've done it for all my SPI boards

@@shogunemperor I used beta flight to update firmware obviously it was not meant for elrs version so I went to Happy models web page downloaded firmware from there binded right up . did not mean to spam should have known better to trust beta flight I have had issues with speeybee fc's also updating thru beta flight

@@shogunemperor well that did nothing because the esc 1 in blheli the firmware says ver. yyyyyyy-yyyyy when you take off it goes out of control the rest of the motors are correct and you cannot flash there is no firmware for this I did download from web site but will not let flash individually either I bought off amazon so it was probably a return I got . i prefer building my own but a tiny whoop like that would be a challenge

@@bengordon7635 noted. So do you still have the binding issue? the hex file is for compatibility with ELRSV3.0 so if you're on anything earlier than that it will not bind. For the ESC, use esc-configurator.com and try reflashing to either blheli-S from there or Bluejay@48khz but bluejay maybe a little troublesome as it still has some bugs.

Yes, you need to update your Mobula7 with the hex file by reflashing in like in the video. V2 does not work with V3. So reflash your Mobula7 and bind it with ur TX and you should be good to go. Let me know if u need anything else

Thanks for dropping by!!! Do check and make sure that both radio and Mob7 are the same ELRS output ie 250hz or 500hz. Do you have stick inputs on Betaflight? Im assuming u used Betaflight to bind yes?

@@nyquil8969 On your zorro use ELRS LUA script and check to see if it is 250hz or 500hz, I think it should be at 250. So switch to 500hz and do the bind process with the Mob7. It should work.

I'm holding down the bind button when I plug in my Mobula7 to my computer but its not coming up on my betaflight. Computer makes a sound that something is plugged in but betaflight doesn't do anything. I've tried holding the button longer but doesn't seem to work. How do I get it to connect DFU - STM32....?

try this... go into betaflight and in the CLI tab type BL and enter. See if that works.

Yes!!! As long as it is a V3 it will work with V3** and likewise with V2 and V2** vice versa!

Yes sir. As long as its a V2 regardless of the .*** it is compatible. It doesnt need to be the same. And V3 is compatible with V3.***

Here is the deal, it is in SPI Elrs v2 and I have a new elrs module that came with the v1, so i will update to v2.x.x and lead the drone as is for now since I am a complete beginner. Hey dude, I'm thinking of building a mob6 with this flight controller & 0802 19k (mob6 original motors). Can I get 20g at this setup? or it will be a little higher like 21-22g? Thanks man!

Thanks for dropping by bruh!! Definitely higher. That X12 is slightly heavier and bigger than the standard FC. Maybe, you might wanna consider using the DiamondF4 or the Superbee F4 which is slightly smaller and lighter. 20g is definitely doable but on 1S.

@@shogunemperor ah, thanks man, I see mobula6 elrs (spi receiver) for just 18.7g (0702 motors). so I did some calculation and found out that if I swap out 4x 1.5g 0702 (6g in total) for 4x 1.9g 0802 (7.6g in total), then the weight difference is 1.6g, which directly adds up to the 18.7g setup, making the quad 20.3g. If that's true then I'll take it. Prefer elrs over frsky OG board on Mobula6. And the seller does provide different motor options for Mobula6 ELRS. Thanks again man!

@@marukothekid yup, thats right. OR!!! Another alternative is the Mobeetle6. That would be the ultralight on 0702 with higher KV. And you get a spare toothpick carbon frame. I'd get that if you wanna save weight, lesser hassle too. One of my most fun whoop to fly. But you might need to make some adjustments as the Mobeetle6 is tuned to almost maximum PIDs.

I did think about getting mobeetle6 but the flight time on that is not that impressive tbh. I'd rather go slow and do mild maneuvers with traditional mob6, tried and trued setup 😅 But if I'm a racer, its defy the mobeetle6!

I find it confusing that diff file is only named for 1 and 2 versions (hence some of those errors?). But i guess that is not so important. It regards to how it flies 🤷‍♂️

Oh! Hmm… some of the errors are caused by mismatch of versions, or unsupported part of the firmware. And yes ur right. Most important is how it flies. For someone whos been in this hobby for awhile now, it still confuses me too! 🤣🤣

Hi, my friend nice videos, I got a build with same FC mobula7 X12 with BETAFPV Gemfan 40mm 3-Blade and Motors: HGLRC AEOLUS 0802-25000KV (don’t like this brand on 0802) I got some other in coming. And I have a Mobula 7 and I swap blades to 3blades and I got propwash with factory tunes. I wondering what kind of tune I can do to the 25000kv and for the Mobula with 3 blades. I got a video flight with whoop with the 25000kv and with factory mobula7 tune doesn’t look bad but if I can have a little help it’s going to be appreciated. Thank you. Keep going and happy flying

I also have propwash with my 2blade stock props. Had to re tune my mobula7 and get much less propwash. Basically I just lower the PID, especially P gain so D gain doesn't have to fight the overshoot caused by P gain. And with reduced P, I don't have to use as much D like stock tune anymore. switch to other profile and try retuning the whoop to see what works best for your setup. Also, how are 3 blade gemfan props? Do they provide better climb and punch on your mobula7 1S? Thanks

@@marukothekid yeah bro! Exactly that! Yes, the gemfan triblades gives a little bit more thrust in pulling out of a manoeuvre. Just needs a little fine tuning if ur using them as I fly them with the stock settings for most of my whoops.

With the new build the 3blades feels a good punch and I got 25000kv on this one need to be adjusted a little bit. I did everything that you recommended it binds but I am having an issue with the Mobula , when I Arm .... the props turn on right away and the throttle increases , im using the Boxer Radio ... I am not sure if it is the radio settings or Betaflight

Thats normal. Its the arm and disarm function. So when u arm, it spins up the motors telling u its ready to take off. Input throttle and it will take off.

@@aurozappa305 ok, thats not normal. On betaflight, go to battery tab and adjust the max output to 4.4v instead of 4.3v. Do this first, and see if that made any changes.

Very twitchy very hard to stabilize and if you bump into anything , the mobula will increase speed and act erratic ... This quad is brand new .. I never touched the canopy to boot the board . You think the gyro is faulty ?
