You forgot Yohan Hwang. He was the overall champion of "I love OPM" contest on TV, had an album and had sung an OST Tagalog version of a Kdrama "Love in the Moonlight". Also Sam Oh. She's a TV host, broadcaster and columnist of Manila Times. Before there was Kim Chui of the Philippine TV there was Sandara. Her popularity was insane she was the teen superstar . I remember I was crazy over her too esp when she was just too sweet and innocent. She was a contestant for a talent search and we had to top up to vote. She only won 2nd place but became a partner of Hero Angeles, the winner of that talent search and the fame of their loveteam skyrocketed to the heavens. She even had to be transported through a chopper to get to the venue due to her very hectic schedule. She even said back when she was already training to be an idol and money was tight, all she had to do was go back to the Philippines. Her single appearance was enough to cover months at YG basement.

I strongly agree 👍🏻 I have met Yohan Hwang in Palawan during the pageant called Miss Silka Palawan. He is our guest celebrity that serenade the candidates last 2017 and I was one of the event staff there lead by Sir Cleo of Top Strata Events Management and Consultancy, he sang two song pieces and I still remember the other one song was a combination of tagalog and korean lyrics but I forgot the title tho. He is a popular singer/celebrity here in the Philippines. He is very approachable and kind, why is he not included in the list? Haha 😂 just saying ✌🏻

15:51 There’s actually a Filipino Kpop Idol named Kriesha Chu. Though she debuted as a soloist, not in a group. She was a contestant in Kpop Star 6. She had a decent popularity during her debut because she was a very well known trainee and a crowd favorite (even YG and JYP wanted to recruit her) during the show. Many people believed that she was supposed to debut in a group together with IZONE’s Minju because they’re from the same company and by the fact that Minju had already appeared and featured in Kriesha’s songs as well as letting Minju appear in Kriesha’s vlogs and vlives prior to IZONE. Fans believed that Urbanworks was only waiting for Minju’s contract with IZONE to end before debuting a group consisting of the two. But around 2020, Kriesha suffered from a health problem and was on a hiatus since then.

@@villainesssidekick7110 right? I instantly thought of Kriesha the moment i heard urbanworks was joining pd48. Honestly, I was very confident if ever Kriesha joined the show. She’s got the talent and visual to compete plus pd48 started not long after kpop star 6 ended so Kriesha’s popularity was still quite very solid back then. Because of this, her getting into the final lineup wasnt too farfetched in my opinion. It was a pity but I think urbanworks was trying not to pressure Kriesha since she’s already came from a survival show and sending her to another one is a bit too much? Or maybe they were already satisfied with what Kriesha had brought to the table so they thought that having more than one popular member would be better so they intentionally sent Minju alone to pd48 to get her supporters, and secure themselves a decent fanbase prior to debuting a new group consisting of the two (w/c looks impossible now since Minju wanted to pursue acting and Kriesha is still on hiatus, i hope she’ll come back🥺) Irdk but yeah. I would have loved to see Kriesha on pd48 and see netz appreciate her talents and gush over her beauty again.

It's funny because foreigners think Filipinos are very open to other cultures and people, which is true in some ways, but mostly kaya naging "famous" ang ibang lahi here in our country because we Filipinos tend to focus our attention on foreigners (or even mixed-raced Filipinos) while degrading our own culture and people in order to elevate others.
