What bothers me is OTHER Filipinos are fine with OPM being associated with Latino Music/Western Music while they go completely nuts when watching SB19 cause their music is influenced by KPop. Damn their double standards.
@elsplanet4 жыл бұрын
The sad reality. I personally believe that it's largely due to how we were always told that back in the day that South Korea was less fortunate and less progressive than the Philippines. It basically instilled in many Filipinos the supposed "superiority" of our past. It doesn't help as well how the image of K-pop in the Philippines is that they're pretty looking people (who had plastic surgery) filled with autotune, which I think is very degrading. In the average Filipino's mind, a good Korean singer can never out sing your average Filipino singer. The thought process that says one country/region is superior than the other is archaic. In the 21st Century, everyone needs to know that people, no matter where they are from are equal. I do hope however that one day, both Western validation, and Korean validation would not be needed to love our own kind. We hope no one thinks that our channel tries to do such. Our channel's reaction videos have one goal which is to understand/interpret the meaning of songs through music video and lyric understanding. The praises heard should only be accepted as compliments, and not a means of validation or approval.
@2multi2function4 жыл бұрын

She said it perfectly, the Filipinos with their formidable vocal cords, ability to convey wonderful emotions and their grace on the dance floor could really compete on the international stage by just being themselves. A good material, proper training and an aggressive campaign/marketing is all that it takes. Thank you Miss, you said it very very well!

Hello~ I'm personally happy that SB19 is gaining recognition around the world, but as a react channel, we hope that you don't use reaction videos as a measure of success. Reaction videos only show a number of people from specific countries and does not represent the thoughts of people from where they are from. I'm not pointing anyone out, but some channels really exaggerate/fake their reactions just to get clicks from Filipinos. This is what our channel tries to avoid. We encourage our reactors to say both what they like, what they don't like, and where the artists featured can improve on. We do hope however that through these efforts, the talent, message, and music of Filipinos would shine through and awaken Filipinos to love their own music just as much as they love Western or Korean music. Furthermore, we hope that through these new/foreign eyes, artists would enhance their craft for both their fans and new listeners. Nevertheless, cheers to the success of OPM, and SB19 in the near future! They seem to be on the right track~ 💜

SB19 DID NOT train in South Korea. Just to clarify, SB19 IS under the management of a South Korean Company which branched out to the PH, ShowBT Philippines, but they did not train in South Korea. All training was done in the Philippines; although, they employed the South Korean training style of idols. Furthermore, their produce is South Korean which might have also added to the KPOP vibe of their music video. Lastly, they don't refer to themselves as KPOP-inspired, rather they refer to themselves as PPOP - Philippine Pop. Thank you! :)

Like Solo artist (Female and Male), HipHop/rapper *although some ppl might hate Skusta Clee and other artist from the same page), SB19 (for now not acceptable generally in the country especially to adults), bands such as December Avenue, This Band, Ben&Ben. Millenials & Gen Z are more open minded about songs genre but I hope the lyrics would change to more healing & hope for listener. And lets stop judging songs because it has different language.

Wala naman masamang ma label na they are reminded of kpop sa SB19. Some just used kpop as a degratory term because its not their cup of tea. But if you look into it kpop is a term used globally to songs sang by idol groups, soloist in korea. If you visit Melon, Genie, Bugs sites or charts they use genre as how it is used Ballad, Pop, Rock, House, Tropical etc. SB19 is inspired by Kpop but them, writing their songs, creating their own choreography sets them apart kasi mostly for kpop groups their companies are doing it all. Konti lang sa kpop ang ganyan katutok sa craft nila. Kaya proud ako sa kanila, they did it! Pop genre is rising in PH! They starting to flourish as artist that the youth can look up to and that what's important, the message they trying imply! Way to go SB19 💙

Thank you for mentioning the sweetness of OPM sung in Filipino/Tagalog. One of your reactors said it right that something gets lost in the translation from Filipino to English. Our native language is beautiful to listen to and lends itself to poetry.

For me, Sarah G is the most versatile & most talented Filipino singer-performer! She can belt. She can dance. She can rap. She can slay different music genres. A multi-awarded singer-performer, actress, host, dancer & model. I can't help but admire her not just as an artist but also as a person. It's not just her talents & passion for music but also her discipline, humility & kindness despite fame & success. People she worked/interacted with, fans, family & friends can attest to how great a person she is.

The various Music Videos they watched just proves how fast-changing, diverse, unique, and fast-growing the OPM genre is. I love Latino and Western Music too, but OPM has a special place in my heart.

Hello~ Sorry, our channel really doesn't react to covers/live videos. 😖 We are a channel that brings music video based reactions since we believe that finding out the meaning of the songs through music videos both with and without lyrics can bring out various theories and insights on what the song is truly about.

I'm so happy for this video! OPM/P-POP is back and we are going global. Thank you for featuring our artists. Thanks for the girl who appreciated our leader Sejun (SB19 with purple backdrop on MV). Idk what happened to music industry in our country, there were a lot of underrated artists and with the help of ShowBT Phil, a korean company, SB19 formed and was able to showcase the talent of our own. Yes, it may be influenced by KPop but hell yeah, what should be the standard boy group look? A lot would copy western look etc but they don't mind but once it got a taste of Kpop everyone just go wild and some would bash it. C'mon! Let's just appreciate every music and culture. I listen to kpop, jpop, indian songs, western, thai, all the above, because i love music. Life is much better with music. Hehehe. God bless all of us! Thank you!
