Breathe Right on the Trumpet
I have a very different philosophy/concept about how we should breathe as trumpet players. It is a more musical approach and less nonsense.
If you search for "breathing techniques for trumpet players" on google, a lot of unmusical stuff comes up. My approach helps you stay true to your music, even for something as physical as breathing.

I'm coming back to the trumpet today! I want to do it correctly, I ended up here. Have not played since 1999. I'm following the pyramid video plan. I'm on day one of exhale.

What about tonguing? I find my single tonguing to always be sluggish compared to others? I find myself needing to double or triple tongue at certain parts of my playing whether in a marching band show or wind ensemble. Is this just a disadvantage I have? Am I tonguing wrong? Or should I simply practice it more?

Usually a "sluggish" tongue is the result of the tongue having to travel too far. If you are one of those who keeps the tongue way low in your mouth, then your tongue has to travel farther than someone who has a smaller oral cavity. If you want to tongue faster, consider raising the tongue in your mouth. I will do a video about this, but that's the main thing. There are a lot of things that teachers teach that is only partly true and only in specific contexts. Our teachers tell us to play "as open as possible", but while that gives us a wonderfully dark sound, there are contexts when it is NOT appropriate. Experiment with playing on a smaller oral cavity (raise the tongue higher in your mouth) and see if that helps to speed up your articulation. Then let me know how that goes.

@@eltigredo this really did help a lot, honestly, and I just had my ACCs where we finished second in our division. It's just that I still believe I should continue to exercise my tongue so it is more fluent, because it still tongues very flap-like when it's tired.

I’m not sure if you’ve already done this but can you make a video on how to play relaxed? For example when I start getting in the upper register my throat starts expanding and I feel like it limits how high I can play and cuts my endurance in half
