I love Empty Garden and The One There are so many great songs that he has done Bernie Taupin has been collaborating with Sir Elton for 50 years or so Bernie usually writes the lyrics and sends it to Elton and Elton composes the music around the lyrics It's fascinating that they have been doing it and they work separate if each other I mean Bernie will do the lyrics and send them to Elton in the mail and then Elton works on adding music

Elton really did surprise people when that song came out...he was to the point of being considered washed up by a lot of people...music was changing, the fans were younger that listened to popular music...and so yeah, he got right in there and made another generation of fans when that music video came out and the song...which was right in line with popular music back then. Elton has a way of keeping his music fresh. If you ever get a chance to listen to one of his other songs, I really would like to suggest HARMONY....it's a pretty soft rock ballad...about a girl coming back to her lover....with both knowing they are both right and not so right for each other.

Here's an interesting piece of trivia. It's the beginning of the song the first time you see the dancers. The guy in the black women's swimsuit basically in the black hat is actually Bruno from Dancing With the Stars. He's a judge as he used to be a dancer
@AW-yj6md5 жыл бұрын
It was a mega hit, that was a gorgeous album, haven't listened to it in a while,."Blue Eyes", is absolutely beautiful song, and his version of the Beatles "Lucy in The Sky With Diamonds ", magical, I like his version better, has more otherworldly sound, sense. MTV played this video ALL THE TIME, I loved the video, seeing Elton dance a little, and at the end showing off the many wild glasses he wore,(he made glassed even cooler, more than other performers like Buddy Holly, Elvis Costello,), only other cool glass wearer Jeff Lynde from ELO, course are sunglasses 😉, the video fit Elton,.he's always been a showman, and that shone through with all the painted people, acrobatics, the uplifting energy of the music and the lyrics, he went beyond Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive ", He was like I'm not just surviving, I'm thriving, I'm blowing up and revamping like a Phoenix, from the ashes. I dont know why he wrote this song, but like Bowie, Elton seem to be reinventing, he'd already been in the business almost 20 years by the time he made this, maybe more. Do check out more of him, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, awesome writing, Funeral for a Friend, Benny and The Jets, Social Disease, All the Girls Love Alice, Saturday Night's Alright, , his other album, Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy, (wow a mouthful), don't know why he gave it such a long title, anyway, good songs, Tower of Babel , Bitter Fingers, Gotta get a Meal Ticket, Dont let the Sun Go Down,, , great album, Elton and Bernie Taupin, are a brilliant duo, then there's his work on movie Tommy with The Who, Tommy was ohh God a masterpiece ROCK OPERA!!!, only other one better than Qudraphenia, also done by The Who, "feel me, feel me, touch me", lol been so long forgot the lyrics, just check it out!!!, Peace ✌, enjoy!
