Elton John performing at Live Aid in front of 72,000 people in Wembley Stadium, London on the 13th July, 1985. The event was organised by Sir Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise funds for the Ethiopian famine disaster. Broadcast across the world via one of the largest satellite link-ups of all time, the concerts were seen by around 40% of the global population.

Actually missed the opening Status quo song because I was queuing for the poster! So it hinder him from hitting the high notes and had to get surgery and ever since then he didn't sound exactly the same as he used to and he had to dial down the vocals a half step. This was better than Woodstock too me. Woodstock was just a bunch of drugs and sex addict hippies with psychedelic bands to represent them. I can still remember it, like it was yesterday. As a little boy of 12 with daddy in the old Wembley Stadium. I have been to many concerts in my life, but Live Aid has its own place deep in my heart. Truly the very best concert ever given!
