i watched this as a 14 year old and the most memorable part of the day was the Led Zep reunion in Philly with Phil Collins on drums. With all due respect to Queen, they're awesome...the hype has been manufactured in subsequent years, in no small part due to the success of the film. Let's not rewrite history.

Mum and dad took us to the event, I was eleven and my brother was ten. We had the free roam of the entire stadium. I can remember Paula Yates leading us to a space by the stage as she thought we were lost. She danced with us and gave us sweets. Can't remember who she took us to meet though but was a fair few people back stage. Beautiful lady and can still remember her smell. She had the scent of an absolute angel. Was devastated when she passed. Beautiful memory though!

Same with the Beatles, we haven't gotten a proper movie about their time as the actual Beatles. There's been ones about their early days playing in Hamburg, and ones after the breakup, but none when they were at their peak in 1964-1967.

Surprised nobody comments on his expressions, it's incredible in this performance how much pain he's in, and still goes on to perform like this.

No, he didn't. Think Bowie did. Elton and Freddie were great friends who had the same manager. Elton was one of the first people Freddie told that he was dying of AIDS as well.

Best and biggest concert there will ever be. So many legends in one place. Queen, Elton, The Who, George Michael, Nik Kershaw, Bowie, Sade, Jagger, Madonna, even more to name. All have my respect till the day I die. They made the best music. Today’s music definitely devolved compared to the 60s-90s

At this moment in history, I had the sense that Elton was in the twilight of his career, which at that time had spanned a total of 16 years. It has been more than 34 years since Live Aid. And he's still not quite done yet... Let that sink in.

Probably a few, it’s just hard to tell since most of the legendary songs to us have been around for decades. It’s also hard to compare newer artists to the classics since they’re very different. But yeah this is quite the legendary song.
