Dedicated to my Father who passed away on 20/04/2023. Not once, did I ever hear him say sorry, in his 79 years of life. Yet, he died by himself - not at all surrounded by any family/loved ones. This inspired me to ensure that I apologise to my Son, whenever I regretted my actions towards him. We are all human. We all make mistakes.

We all go through this eventually. Cycle of life. Out prayers went through the same. We do sideways have our favorite music and good memories forever.

"Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word" What have I got to do to make you love me What have I got to do to make you care What do I do when lightning strikes me And I wake to find that you're not there What do I do to make you want me What have I got to do to be heard What do I say when it's all over And sorry seems to be the hardest word It's sad, so sad It's a sad, sad situation And it's getting more and more absurd It's sad, so sad Why can't we talk it over Oh it seems to me That sorry seems to be the hardest word What do I do to make you love me What have I got to do to be heard What do I do when lightning strikes me What have I got to do What have I got to do When sorry seems to be the hardest word

An absolute masterpiece. No cover of this will EVER come close to this original. This song is ingrained in my mind as a song that my sister and I listened to way back in the winter of 1977 when we were stuck at home during a two week snowstorm that seemed it would never stop. Even as kids we were getting sick of the snow. LOL But my sister and I had a new album by Elton John and it was the LP that included this song. We would play both sides of that whole LP on the turntable a few times a day and that album had so many great songs of EJ's on it and we never grew tired of it. We would sit in the big front window of the house every day and listen to that EJ album and watch the snow coming down by the ton. The deepest that snow got during that two week blizzard was three feet deep. So now every time I see snow falling heavily I can't help but hear these incredible EJ songs in my head and when I hear these songs I can't help but envision snow swirling out of the sky in my mind. Those two weeks of Elton John and a huge snowstorm permanently associated snow and Elton John in my mind. The swirling snow coming down so heavily went perfectly with the up-tempo cover of "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" that was also on that album. During the chorus lines of that song I can just see snow swirling out of the sky in my mind and I remember how the words fit that swirling snow scene so well because when the clouds would thin just a bit and the huge snowflakes would glow and glitter a bit because of a little sunlight leaking through they looked like diamonds falling out of the sky. I would picture Lucille Ball (Lucy) pouring diamonds out into the sky and them falling as the snow. Yes, my sister and I had quite vivid imaginations on those blizzard days. LOL We took what would normally be boring for kids now and made it into something almost magical and quite fun. My sister passed away last year suddenly and so now these somber and emotional Elton John songs that she and I enjoyed so much as kids always really get to me now. The piano in this song brings a tear to my eye when I think of my sister and remember how we watched the snow for two weeks while listening to this and many other EJ songs on the old turntable. Those were some special times that I will never forget and I will always see swirling snow in my mind when I hear this song, Philadelphia Freedom, Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, The B***h Is Back, Island Girl, and so many other awesome songs by Elton John. I miss you, sis, and will always think of you when I hear these songs.

It's more like a "Swan Song" in many ways. He probably needed a long vacation. "Don't Go Breakin' My Heart" was huge during that Summer, and this came out just before the Holidays that year. It was my last year of middle school and my last year of listening to American Top 40 and listening to pop music in general. A sad reflective composition but from a very happy period in my life.

Bernie Taupin lyricist/poet wrote every song while Elton supplied the music. Working in tandem for 53 years! Bernie knew all of Elton’s emotions and thoughts! Then we get perfection!
@docbohemian1328

What amazes me is that Bernie writes the lyrics, sends them to Elton who then sets them to music- they don't collaborate or argue. Call it "the art of collaboration without collaborating." Their kung fu is very strong.

Not only did we lose our only son May 17, 2015....but now lost my husband June 4th, 2016. I believe that he died of a broken heart from the loss of our son. Now I have lost both the men that I loved unconditionally all their lives in the last year. They always showed me such love and it was returned to them. They were my life and I have no reason to go on anymore since they are both gone from me. Never in my life had I thought that I would be so lonely and alone....and it has absolutely stopped my life. I just pray to God that he takes me to be with both of them.

Rocío Izaguirre I appreciate your kind words. I am just having some problems losing both of them within a year of each other. There are so many family and friends that never bring up their names or realize what I am going through. It is like they never existed and no one in my family seems to care or know what I am going through. My grandson and his wife came from FL to IA last week to spend some special time with me. I am so thankful for them taking time from their lives to let me know how they care about me. I know how busy everyone is with their own lives, but it only takes a few minutes to make a call to let me know that my son and husband was part of their lives also.
