Saw his final concert in the states. Dodger Stadium was packed...He came out and performed non-stop for 3 hours...no opening act, no intermission...just BAM BAM BAM hit after hit after hit. There was still not enough time for all of his great music (Lion King, etc.) Fabulouso!!!!

Same here! Usually a mix of Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, Billy Joel, Air Supply, The Bee Gee's etc! Every Saturday morning when it was time to clean the house! I'm mid 40's .... so this was early 80's for me. We still had the huge heavy wooden console stereo's at first, where the top opened up to reveal a turn table, am/fm tuner and 8 track player. Then they finally bought a Sony rack system with dual tape decks and they went to TOWN dubbing mix tapes from their hundreds of albums!

I saw him last week, and I'm sad it's over. He said up there in the microphone that in 50's, and 60's when he was growing up he thought that one day world will be a better place, but instead, it's now full of hatred, people killing each other etc. So he dedicated his next song "I Want Love" to all the victims of those horrible events in the last few years. And said that he still hopes because love is stronger than hate. What a man!

What I love about this video is that what little movement Elton does is done so crisply with a lot of energy and passion that comes through in the song very well. He was 38 years old when he did this video and he stood out like a bright light among all those 20-something professional dancers without needing his 70s huge glasses and sequin suits.

One my favorite Elton songs.......... "Sad Songs (Say So Much)" Guess there are times when we all need to share a little pain And ironing out the rough spots Is the hardest part when memories remain And it's times like these when we all need to hear the radio `Cause from the lips of some old singer We can share the troubles we already know Turn them on, turn them on Turn on those sad songs When all hope is gone Why don't you tune in and turn them on They reach into your room Just feel their gentle touch When all hope is gone Sad songs say so much If someone else is suffering enough to write it down When every single word makes sense Then it's easier to have those songs around The kick inside is in the line that finally gets to you and it feels so good to hurt so bad And suffer just enough to sing the blues Sad songs, they say Sad songs, they say Sad songs, they say Sad songs, they say so much

An excellent song by a guy who shares the same birthday as my late sister, who sadly passed away on 2 September 2022. Elton was born on 25 March 1947, my late sister was born on that day in 1971. This great song reached No.7 in The UK back in June 1984.

This was the first single my parents bought for me, I was six months old when it was released and whenever this song came on the radio in the car we had to listen all the way through or I'd throw a fit so my parents went and bought the 45. Almost 40 years later I still have the 45 and it's still one of my favourite songs.
