This has always been one of my favorite songs. I find it ironic that you are playing along with the woman your will replace in the future . and no doubt that this is one of the songs the band listened to when they chose you. Skol

Hi, nicely done! You have a very 'clean' playing technique, I'm impressed. Which tuning are the chanterelles of your gurdy? It sounds like an alto gurdy, am I correct? I'm learning to play some Eluveitie songs too at the moment. I'm writing down the sheet music, if you would be interested to trade sheet music with me?
@michalina_malisz9 жыл бұрын
Hey, thank you very much for kind words. :) My chanterelles are G and D, these are viola strings so I suppose my hurdy gurdy is alto, but I'm not really sure. Unfortunately, I'm playing all my covers by ear and I don't have any sheets. :( Which songs are you learning to play now?
@Cyradis2569 жыл бұрын
helvetion I’m learning Andro and Omnos now. I’m learning them by ear too, but I’m writing down the sheet music while learning it because it’s easier for me. If you want, I can share them with you when I’m finished (I don’t know if you can read notes?).
@michalina_malisz9 жыл бұрын
Sjoera That's nice of you. :3 Yes, I can read notes, yet I don't find it necessary to transcribe the melodies from Elu that I want to cover. I've considered making "Omnos" video, but there's not much to play for hurdy gurdy. I also seek to practice more demanding stuff now and expand my skills. Anyway, I think "Omnos" and "Andro" are great to begin with! :)
@Cyradis2569 жыл бұрын
helvetion I just started playing in September so I still have a lot to learn. I like watching your videos, it gives me a lot of input on playing technique :) anyway, I will send you my sheet music when I'm finished, hopefully you'll find them useful ^^ happy hurdying!

@michalina_malisz8 жыл бұрын
+Mohammed Abulqassim Wow, thank you very much for your comment! Good luck with finding the gurdy of your dreams (hint: Polish prices are rather reasonable). ;3
@Yuan080007 жыл бұрын
Up after 8 months, sorry :p I'm not sure there is a HG for a "reasonnable price" actually, but you can find very good ones for not sooo much. I don't know where you live, but the man who made mine is from France, check Joel Traunecker ;) Not to make shadows to Jan Malisz, in fact it depends the sound you want and what you want to do with the instrument (and where you live ahah)

Hello ! First of all congrats for this great cover ! Second : Where did you buy a hurdy gurdy ? Third : How much did it cost ? and last how did you learn to play it ???
@michalina_malisz9 жыл бұрын
Hi, sorry for late answer, but here it is: my gurdy was made by Jan Malisz (facebook.com/jan.malisz.9?fref=ts) in Poland, price - about 1000 euro. I learnt by reconstructing Eluveitie songs, started with easier ones (Nil, Brictom, Of Fire, Wind and Wisdom), but honestly - I don't remember, which one was first. :) I'm glad you liked my video, thank you and if you have more questions, feel free to ask! :3
