This is a perfect and very moving work of art, no matter what order it's listened to in, and it's probably a pinnacle of modern ambient music. Like all great art, it feels both familiar (timeless) and new and inspires your own desire to create.

For anybody wondering why this album appears longer here than spotify, the concept of the album is that it is made up of many little musical cells that are meant to be played in any order, preferably set to shuffle mode. This makes the album potentially infinite.

It's a great concept but it has been done before. It was an album on Minidisc because this format didn't leave gaps while shuffling. The name of the album was Minidisc, artist name Gescom. One of the people behind it was Rob Brown from Autechre. BTW this album is also great.
@johannes.nieuwenhuizen Жыл бұрын
Autechre has always been ahead of the curve. Too bad their more recent things have become unlistenable, for me at least. Gescom has some great tracks. I believe I found it when I was looking for music in which you can hear the use of the Yamaha RY30.

Wonderful album. Sadly my dog died shortly after listening to it but that was just before my cat jumped to his death. I am feeling so much right now just with everything going on in the world but also a spark of creativity that had been lingering before all that happen. So I guess there is that. Also I am expecting major sympathy likes for this comment since I know thats what you ppl nut over❤ Wishing all of you Love and Light.

Playing a little Erik Satie over the top is wonderful!
@markbell9973 Жыл бұрын
Yep, smart move. Bc (French person) Satie brought this lowkey slomo/shuffle genre of music into existence as if out of nowhere. That was +/- 150 yrs ago. Hope it's ok to play the geeky-didactic, half cray French Professor Dr. for a minute. There's an anonymous 'quote' out there that says "France is the first to get the sickness and also the first to move on from it." Thought a few of the commenters here might like that. Most everybody back in the day politely dismissed Satie as eccentric, amateurish and shallow. I should say most everyone of the schooled music and critical establishment. There had to be some of even them, but also of the concert-going public who appreciate the new vibe...the originality of it. Or else this approach to creating new music would not have come back in fresh forms I'd day 5-6 times from the 1880s to now 2023. The idea of the slow, recurring evolution--playing with la durée/the duration" of melody, harmony, counterpoint, rhythmical fragments, whole sententces and paragraphs, quotations from previous music, came at first intuitively but then more and more scientifically (aka knowingly) to be seen as a more truthful representation of nature and the universe than what conventional music provided. (Provides (!). What we got here is adding upon Satie, by creating forever new updates, developments, contexts, states of mind and the emotions. Super successful here, friend Alexandro. Bravo. And you know why, really. Inside the able technician like you is a living, breathing, feeling, red-blooded ie, NOT ice water Sapiens (cap S). Bc of that all of us likeminded (or not, let's hope) can relate "musically" (that is, at first via the neurological-aural) to a long continuum of human affect arising from real experience. ... from euphoria to joy....all the way to depression going into morbid despair. The best art is always a fraternal (also sororital ha), extended hand or put another way: message in a bottle sent at random but also sent straight to me. My way of saying TY. Mark

I appreciate the ironic hilarity that is posting a music album forcibly "in order" whilst the album is SPECIFICALLY designed to be played on shuffle LMAO. This won't work unless we go to a playlist of each individual song or find the album on youtube music etc lol.
@Andre-gy5ml2 жыл бұрын
if you shuffle it can play in this order too, its just one of the many iterations
@colonialstraits1069 Жыл бұрын
Why is the listening experience, as sequenced, any less valid, than one that is “randomly generated”? I’m listening to it now, sounds amazing. In theory, a shuffled version would eventually produce this exact track order. Nobody needs gatekeepers. There are no “rules” to how an individual experiences art.
