Nearly 30 years ago, I experienced a life-altering TBI that led to a severe depression. While those dark days are long behind me, their memories linger. Words typically speak to the mind, shaped by the lens of our experiences, influencing how we interpret and respond to them. Depression, however, distorts everything; it is insidious, a condition I wouldn’t wish on anyone. In that state, up feels like down, happiness fades into sadness, and hope vanishes. Darkness prevails. But here you have gifted us Elven Dreams. The title alone feels fitting, as I was never depressed while dreaming. Elven Dreams possesses a beautifully hopeful voice, singing lyrics without defined meaning, accompanied by a melody that is joyful, reflective, and deeply reassuring. The brilliance of this composition lies in how its words bypass the mind entirely, speaking directly to the soul. Each time I hear it, the words resonate differently, as though they shift and evolve with each listen. Strangely enough, my soul seems to understand them perfectly. They radiate calmness, filled with a loving hope that is rare and profound. Silviu, you are truly a Master Composer-on par with, and perhaps even surpassing, the greatest in history. Elven Dreams will forever hold a special place in my heart, alongside all your other cherished creations.
