I met my wife when she was pregnant. She was going to give the baby up for adoption, but he was born with Downs Syndrome, and the couple that was going to adopt him backed out. I knew at that time that I wanted to be with her forever, and decided to raise the baby as my own. I was the only father my son ever knew. He passed away a few years ago from leukemia. This song is exactly how I felt everyday he was in my life. Out of all of the choices I have ever made in my life, raising that child was the best one I have ever made.

Honestly once you embrace the role its amazing though, may feel like the end of the world now but i promise one day itll feel like your world wont spin without them. Best advice i have is make a decision and stick to it, in or out, not fair on anyone otherwise and do it soon. And if you decide to be in, then make sure you'll be there dont half ass it

I'm sorry hun I feel your pain and loss. I just recently lost my Dad as well. He fought for 27 years with the up's and downs of a double lung transplant at the neglect of nasco ship yards in San Diego, California just to find out 2 days before Father's day that he was stage 3 liver cancer when he just had a clean bill of health 3 months prior. . And he went extremely fast. He passed September 12th. But the hardest part of all of this was that my youngest brother kept me from being able to say goodbye to him, to speak to him the last couple weeks of his life because I live in another state. Throwing it in my face that he's not really even my dad biologically. I know how my dad felt about me and that's all that matters.

Same. My son is Autistic, he was 3 when my husband, his father literally found us in the gutter living on crackers and straps. I came from a horrific abusive situation and was left with no options but giving my son up for adoption. CPS gave me 6 months to find suitable living. I went in for a job interview I wasn't qualified for at all. The boss was nice but He didn't hire me. He gave me a chance, he gave me a small above garage apartment and offered me schooling for a better position. As long as I was going and doing well his company would pay for it and pay me a training wage. That was 6 years & 8 months ago. He's now my husband and my son's father. He showed me compassion, patience, love & kindness. He gave my son, correction, OUR son a chance that no others would have.

‼️Sooo here’s my story…. I fell in love with my son when he was 3 mths old. He was conceived by my then husband and another woman. We had frequent visits and at 2 he moved into the home with us. I left my X when my son was 5. It was one of the hardest things I ever had to do because he wouldn’t let me take him with me and for a little while wouldn’t allow me to visit him. Fast forward to now… I’m allowed to get him and keep him on holidays and all school breaks. He has always identified me as Mom along with his birth mom as well.
