We’ve decided on the Trout Creek with a loft above the closets and bathrooms in the rear of the house. We need a single story in our “Golden Years”. I was in a horrendous automobile accident when I was 21. I had to learn how to walk again afterwards and now arthritis is kicking in.

If you think about inflation, across-the-board, now imagine what that has done to home prices. It’s still hard to wrap my head around it but it is what it is. They will probably have something just shy of $1 million in that home up in Alaska.

Is the cabin currently boarded up while Joas is recovering from his accident. Its certainly in a beautifully situated position. Hope it won't be to long before it's completed and moved into.

A beautiful log home, but it is so remote! No grocery stores or medical facilities anywhere near? Is there electricity? Water?

I assume they will put a well in and have solar off grid power. It’s remote beyond anything you would find in Montana. Maybe Montana is big but Alaska is vast.

Our current president is 2,880 including the over sized 2 car garage. Our stick built house is 38X40, it’s a 2 story house and that’s including the 780 sq ft 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment that we had built into the design for our aging parents when they need assistance in their older ages. My dad lived in the apartment from 21 until last December when he went home to be with the Lord. We may be getting my in-laws by next fall, as my mother inlaw isn’t doing well. I know it’ll be hard on them as they’ve been living on their ranch in Montana for over 50 years. In both of our families we take care of each other as long as we can. We believe that this is what the Lord intended for families to do for one another.

Elvie, I haven't commented much on your channel because I discovered yours through Montana Haven, but I truly enjoyed the vlogs of your Alaska adventures!! You look right dapper in your new, cozy coat and your tours of the AK Meadowlark log homes were a joy. I don't know if you've noticed, but I can see your videography continues to advance over time! Thank you for sharing!! WOW, I wish we had a mud room that size and I love that gabled dormer! I surely hope Hubby & I can incorporate cathedral ceilings into our dreamed addition! ... And YES- W O W to that view!! 😍 Glorious!! 🙌🏻

It’s been a while Alvie but I’m keeping up with your work and amazing cabins. This is so beautiful but I don’t think I could live anywhere quite this cold and remote.
