@@JustTanya. I know the Emmys come on every year. And yes, Phylicia should've gotten nominated for S2-S5 instead of S1 and S2. And yes, she should've won for S5. But I'm just saying that in the earlier days of The Cosby Show she didn't stand a chance against Cheers and The Golden Girls. The awards success of both didn't taper off until the end of the 80s.

Claire's speech is iconic. I remember watching her as a little asian girl wanting to grow up to be a strong confident career woman like Claire Huxtable was, I even used to practice this scene in the mirror. It never really occurred to me that the family was black and that meant something until later seasons, this show was a staple in my house and the Monopoly money scene was even used in our Family and Consumer Science classes in school. Now that I'm an adult I still love that scene, I still laugh and cringe at Elvin's ideas, but now I have even more respect for Daryll in this episode. Him saying he better do some pretty good cooking and Cliff immediately yelling for Sondra to hurry up is something I would probably do as a parent (or a best friend not wanting my friend to let this gem slip away). Makes me sad that even now there are men like Elvin who aren't doing it because the writers room thought it would be funny

I will agree with the fact that the reversal was called for on procedural grounds, and I will not be the one shouting "technicalities suck" because, again, I agree that the horse-trade was legally valid, and I agree that Cosby has the legal right to insist that the horse-trade be enforced in this instance. It bothers me so much that this show has been taken from the air, growing up, it was a show that gave so many kids, mainly black kids the vision that we are not just in projects, uneducated, poor and the rest of it, you saw a positive example of a black family living in society. Bills horrible offences should not take away from the show and art, also there are at least 6 other actors who made this show, aren’t they owed! Yet, Bills criminal counterparts have not had their work taken down or away!
