Elvis was truly a special soul! When Elvis found out what happened with Jackie Wilson... He made sure his hospital bills were taken care of & after Elvis died ....Graceland Estate continued to take care of those & I believe ...if not all....at least part of Jackie's funeral. They were friends & respected each other as performers.

Another good documentary about Elvis is '200 Cadillacs' - it blew my mind just how generous he truly was. I've been a fan for 50+ years and never knew much about this. I think one of the reasons he is still so popular today, apart from his amazing discography, is because of his kindness and humanity. There was nothing fake about him ❤

Elvis was an amazing human being in so, so many ways. I personally knew people who he took care of and provided for in Memphis. He never sought publicity or recognition of his acts of kindness and we fans knew he loved us. He once said, when fans were ripping his clothes and scatching him that they just wanted a little piece of him and if they wanted the shirt off his back, they could have it because they (his fans) put it there. He was love personified. ❤❤❤

Elvis once had the shirt on his back almost torn off his back by a fan after a concert. An interviewer asked him if he was angry about that, as they were costly designer clothes & he had had it happen before. Elvis smiled & said, “My fans put that shirt on my back, so they can rip it off anytime they like.” That is why Elvis went out of his way to interact with his adoring fans. He would always take time to sign autographs, & sometimes he would do that just as he was about to start singing, & he would notice a fan at the front reaching out with a photo of him to sign, so he would walk right on over to the fan, kneel down on the stage in front of them, announce to the audience he was taking time out, & he would then ask the name of the person, & he would write a personal message on his photo for them. He loved all of his fans & he was such a caring, generous man. If you continue to watch his concerts, especially the Las Vegas ones, you will see things that to you might be unbelievable, but to those of us who grew up in the same era as Elvis, & knew so much about him, it is something we are so used to seeing.

The Graceland Mansion in Memphis, Tennessee, was the house and acreage Elvis purchased in 1957 for himself and his parents. He lived there until his death in 1977. The Graceland properties expanded tremendously under Priscilla's and his daughter Lisa's business expertise after his death. For many, many years it has been the 2nd most visited home by tourists in the USA, with the White House being 1st! If you get Sirius XM Radio in your vehicle (or with Alexa), the 24/7 Elvis Channel (channel 75) is broadcast directly from the studio on the Graceland grounds. Graceland is just a few miles from St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, to which Elvis heavily contributed over the years (and actually, indirectly helped actor/producer Danny Thomas, its founder, to start).

I can't tell you how much i love and miss him, there is not a day that goes by that i don't think of him and all the memories we made are tucked safe in my heart forever. in 10 short years, his death knocked the wind out of me i have never been the same since, Elvis was the big brother i never had. He is also my guardian angel. Graceland is my go to place when it get's to hard to live w/o my friend i go there and walk around and remember Elvis and all the beautiful times we had together. He was the only person in my life that understood me and cared about my feelings and opinions. What it comes down to is we both needed a true friend and we were that for each other. Awesome reaction. I had to set someone straight people trying to dirty Elvis name not on my watch what sickens me the most is the people that are talking smack know nothing of what they are speaking of, i have spent my entire adult life speaking out to people that try and judge a beautiful soul that is not here to defend himself. as long as i have breath in my lungs no one i mean no one will disrespect him period. Elvis was a very generous man George didn't lie about anything he said in this video R.I.P. George he was a very special man. God bless you and your family from the one and only Memphis Tn. 😭Elvis told me all the time you should always know where you stand with people now i know what he meant. #forevermyking #forevermysexyjello

Graceland was his home and refuge. He always loved Memphis. Where ever he lived, people would always gather outside in the hope of seeing Elvis. In the early days, his mum would take out drinks and food for the fans. Even in the army in Germany, fans would be outside his home at all hours and he would come out to sign autographs. He said that he could never earn enough money to forget what it felt like to be dirt poor! And it made him happy to see people’s reaction to his gifts 👌💕🕺

Boo!! You really didn't know (about) Graceland😮 Yes it is Elvis'(Mansion) Estate. The name (which he kept), came from the previous owners. True That: weekly there were people hanging at the gates in the hopes of getting a glimpse of Elvis, but even moreso getting an invite inside!!!~😊👍 He was always very generous with his time, and of course freely shared and gave what was needed or what would put a smile on someone's face! Anyone that was hurting that he heard about he would want to help~ I think because he never forgot where he came from, but also I remember mama Gladys saying that even though they were dirt poor, Elvis would give away his toys to less fortunate kids. ❤ Damn, I wish he were still here! Great reaction~ Take care Boo!

Not one film or video I've seen does justice to how much Elvis gave, just how generous he really was. When visiting Graceland in 1995, they had endless rows of thank you letters under glass from people & organizations that he had helped, privately, incognito, all without any fanfare. He didn't want the giving to be known to the public. He wanted absolutely no publicity about it. He wouldn't even take any deductions on his taxes. Some called that stupid. He wanted to pay those taxes. It's documented he made hundreds of millions of dollars, but died with only $5 million left. He lived a lavish lifestyle for sure, but saved nothing. He gave it all away. It's like he was sent here to teach us what a generous spirit looks like.

Graceland is the name of the house/property he bought in Memphis. It had been named that by the previous owners and Elvis thought it was appropriate... part history so he left it and never changed it! It wasn't uncommon for that same group of girls and some guys to hang out by the gates of Graceland..... like that 1 man said ....in the hopes of getting a glimpse of Elvis or him coming down to say hello to them! After Elvis died his ex-wife opened up Graceland to the public. When he passed away there really wasn't much money left so Priscilla wanted to make sure that her daughter would be well taken care of and herself of course. They have since added a lot of things to the property of Graceland. They have regular tours.... special events ....you name it! Every year on his death they have a vigil & I do believe they also have a special event on his birthday.

Graceland being open to his fans and the general public had very little to do with P'zilla Beaulieu....though, she's taken credit for it all and allows the misinformation to be perpetuated. She was only a temporary guardian for young Lisa Marie as entrusted by the ill Vernon (against the wishes of Elvis himself). Elvis' Estate already had an executive team who made the decision, with Vernon and minor input from P'zilla. People need to stop repeating this misinformation...same with P'zilla's shameless use of the Presley name.

Elvis Presley regularly donated to 50 charities. In the Graceland archives there is a large plaque with 50 small gold plaques where you can see who Elvis donated to. In addition to these donations, Elvis always gave gifts to people when he was on tour or just out and about. Elvis gave away houses, cars, money, jewelry or paid for expensive surgeries for sick people. Elvis once said, "God gave me everything a human could wish for. I know that God gave it to me so that I could make people happy!" Elvis Presley was an angel.

Another cool thing about this are the really early clips of him mixed into it. You don't really get that in the KZbin videos that people react to, you really have to dig for it and often times it doesn't have good audio or maybe no audio at all. But some of the moves we saw just even right here are way more intense than what was generally on those television specials or later in the movies. Some of that was definitely from the Louisiana hayride, and outdoor Festival that they work their way up the chain until finally they were headlining it. And then there's that other one where it's an indoor venue and I know I've seen the concert footage of it but I just can't remember what song it is and what the setting was to go find it. But he does a lot of great moves in that one as well and you just see how much is fans loved him and how much he resonated with them.

Jane H commenting …. People who lived anywhere near Graceland, Elvis’ home, will known of his incredible generosity, & people who received Elvis’ loving kindness, would tell their friends & would tell their families. Unless it was something Elvis did publicly at one of his concerts, or it was a donated gift to be auctioned off for charity, or a concert he would do for charity, Elvis himself never went around telling people how good he was. He said God had given him his voice, & that enabled him to make money, & God did that so that he could share it with others who needed it. Yes, there are always people who want to tear an icon down, or just tear a good person down …. Jealousy, envy, hate …. I don’t know why they do that. They will have to answer for that kind of behaviour at some point. I do hope you will watch the rest of this video with us, or do it in parts. Thank you for your Reaction.

There are only three present-day fresh young artists (there may be more but they don't come to mind right now), whom I know from reading and researching, who have tremendously generous hearts similar to Elvis' selfless heart. They are Dimash Kudaibergen, Amira Willighagen, and Angelina Jordan -- all three greatly empathetic souls who care about and give to others from a genuine heart of love and compassion. Elvis' generosity lives on in them (and hopefully, a few others out there that I can't think of or am unaware of).

I think one of the very best ways to get a comprehensive "first person" perspective on Elvis as a young kid is to watch Baz Lurhmann's on-location interview with a guy named Sam Bell, a Black man who was one of Elvis' childhood buddies when both of them were kids growing up as poor folks in the projects.

Well I heard also a very nice story of J D Summer of the Stamps when Elvis was 20 years dead at August 16 1997. I talked with then with J D and he told a happening in 1972. They were driving to Graceland coming from a concert and on their way Elvis saw a car accident happening. He let immediately stop the car and went to the victims to give them help and let the ambulance coming. He joined the ambulance to the hospital and in the hospital Elvis said to the doctors "All the costs to heal and recover these victims I pay! They dont need to pay anything" Also good to know is that Elvis never deduct his donations of his income tax. I never stop saying that if we all would do what Elvis did, the world would be a much better place. And a dictionnary does not have enough words to describe how much I miss mister Elvis Presley THE GOAT!!!

"In 6 weeks I can make 2 million dollars" in 1974 = $12 million in venues 1/5 the size of the venues could be playing today in 2023. That would be like $60 MILLION in TWO WEEKS of touring MINIMUM!! Thats not counting merch that would be IMPOSSIBLE to keep in stock. $120M in 6 weeks. Over $1 BILLION in TODAY's money per YEAR. JUST ON CONCERTS and CONCERT MERCH!!! Thats not counting merch on his webstore. Or other live and online appearances. Or celebrity endorsements that would break records. So Elvis' potential earnings TODAY is uncountable. Elvis would probably be earning $3-6 BILLION A YEAR and thats WITHOUT HIM INVESTING!!! In comparison, TOM CRUISE is the highest paid actor in Hollywood earned 100M last year. Thats 1/10 of $1 billion. WITHOUT A DOUBT, If Elvis made $6 Billion in 2023, he would have given away ALMOST ALL OF IT AWAY to the poor. NO QUESTION IN MY MIND.

There is a big report from 1976 and 1977 ("Bravo" magazine ((the largest youth magazine in the world at the time)). "Bravo" accompanied Elvis on tour at the time (1976, a year before Elvis died). They write: "Elvis Presley is still the king of music and makes more money than any other artist in the world!" "Bravo" wrote in 1976/77: Elvis earns an average of $10,000 an hour and $240,000 a day. Extrapolated in the present time it would be around $300,000,000 a year. The fact is that Elvis Presley made a lot of money up to the end. But Elvis also donated and gave away a lot of money. And Elvis voluntarily paid the highest taxes. According to "Bunte" 1967 (major German magazine), Elvis Presley was awarded the richest artist in the world.
