I guess the kiss was a lovely parting gift. He didn't want her to feel rejected cause he knew he was going to get with Linda. And as far as all the kissing, back thing we didn't have all the medical problems we have now, my grandma talked of drinking water out of the ditch when she was a child, it was a cleaner America. And as far as making Jeanne feel good, there was a story told by Elvis neighbor girl who lived behind Graceland and hung out at Graceland a lot. Uncle Vester was working the gate, and two girls came up, one was gorgeous and her sister was very homely. they wanted to meet Elvis, and Vester sent them both up. when they walked in the wild bunch of mafia were sitting all around the room and when the pretty one walked in first she was thrilling the boys with her beauty as her homely sister walked in behind her, and they groaned loudly. Elvis was standing on the stairs and saw it all. He came down and passed the beauty and went right to the homely girl and hugged her first. He could see she was about to cry. He said, "we'll be back, and took her outside near the pool. He hugged her again and said, I am so glad you came over to see me. I really appreciate you and want you to enjoy being at Graceland. Then he kissed her and they went back inside. He was very conscious of hurting people, he also hated people that made fun of others. Thanks Joe, that's why he kissed her.

Elvis was a gem. It is too bad he did fall in love truly ( like Johnny Cash and June Carter). June and her parents took care of Johnny and stood by his side. Elvis deserved that kind of woman. May he be resting peacefully with his baby girl and grandson. 🕊️🕊️🕊️

I have conflicting feelings about Linda. I agree that she took great care of Elvis and was understanding of him. I think she also helped nurture him back to life when Priscilla hurt him so badly, but I don’t agree with how she ran up his credit card debt when they broke it off and lavishly spent so much money, etc.

I couldn’t agree with you more. Did you read her book? I was appalled. She in my opinion is just like Priscilla, in fact her book followed a similar story. Love of her life etc. she humiliated him in her book and in particular told 2 stories that the Memphis mafia told. But she added things that I found so hard to believe. The Memphis mafia had no problem making him look bad so if her additions were true they would have said it. Plus she makes herself out to be the hero in every scenario. She also wrote of her 2 ex husbands and bashed them also. She also started messing around with David Briggs Elvis keyboard player during their relationship. Like Priscilla she speaks so softly and lovingly in her interviews but puts him down at same time

@@kimberlystrother5134 my feelings on Linda are very much like my feelings about Priscilla. Why did they stick around for so many years if he was seeing other women and displayed characteristics that they claim were so bad? Because in my opinion they had something to gain from it. That’s not self respect and not love for someone. I get they were probably in love more with the image and the perks and being by his side were too good. But when you look at Anita who stood up for herself or Ann margaret who in an interview in the 19080s refused to discuss Elvis told the interviewer “I will not betray him even in death” you realize there were women who loved the man. It’s all so sad

Hi Joe ...I think Linda really loved Elvis and i do agree if it wasn't for her, Elvis would have passed sooner..Billy Smith said Elvis n Linda were together four and a half years. Elvis was aware if they reached the five year mark ,they would have reached the common law rules, which would have meant Linda would have been his common law wife...As much as we love Elvis,i think we know " He was a player." I have been rewatching Elvis interview videos, also some of the other people in his life videos to see if anything at all Lucy related pops up. So far the only thing I heard him say in one of the interviews he did in Cali (sorry I don't remember which one it was) they were discussing Gladys and Elvis said how much he loved and missed her, then he said she never wanted anything which stood out to me as a Lucy quality they shared.

Mitte 👏I think someone mentioned the 5 year mark meant Common Law Marriage, with Rights, to Elvis & he didn’t want that with Linda because I believe “ the bloom was off the Rose” as the expression goes, concerning Linda. He was ready to move on & bought her a home & had a hard time getting her to go from Graceland. She enjoyed the fame & fortune & before leaving put a large sum on his credit card. I think she had been dating, too. Love to hear you read, Joe, especially your Elvis voice! Take good care. Blessings 👏🎶🎵❤️

I 100% believe Lucy and I believe that the reason that her relationship with Elvis lasted for 24 years is because Lucy never expected anything from Elvis. She was available whenever he wanted. I am seeing that all the others June, Priscilla, Anita all expected more from Elvis. He seldom called them and they were left alone for long periods of time and they left him eventually. Too many beautiful women available to Elvis and so little time!

I believe Linda was a rebound. She may have been a terrific person for Elvis, but he was coming off a marriage (whether he loved Priscilla or not). It was a marriage with a child. His family was torn. Linda became a distraction. Billy Smith has said Elvis was not going to marry again-not even Priscilla.
@LadyCapricorn8Күн бұрын
I feel Linda was good for Elvis after his divorce. Remember, Elvis had that 5 year rule. He was ready to move on. Linda I think was a bit angry at him, because she put her time in, but he never asked her to marry him. I am sure she was hopping he would. She eventually got over it, then married Bruce Jenner. Elvis did not want to be tied down to only one lady. Because, he knew he could not be faithful. And, he did not want a second divorce on his hands. Therefore, I do not feel he would have married Ginger.

I just want to share here that, Linda had a movie out March 1st 1981. Called Elvis and the beauty queen, with Don Johnson playing Elvis and Stephanie playing Linda. It wasn't a very good movie at all but I remember thinking at the time I wonder why Linda agreed to do this especially with how much she said she loved Elvis. It was like the second thing I remember seeing after Elvis died since that horrible book by the bodyguards. So I know there's probably more to the story why Linda agreed to it, I just thought I'd share that with you.
