Oh please let's not make Desiree be defensive! We would be so honoured to have her speak to us! She needs to know this is a safe space, Joe would never be disrespectful to her! What an honour it would be to hear her story, not just because of Elvis but because her mother was an amazing person that fought so hard to keep her children safe as well... I'm also a bit curious about how Desiree's life turned out. I think she married Julio Iglesias doctor and they followed him on show. I'd love to hear Desiree sing some of Julio's songs! Not taking for granted she can sing but her mother said in the book she was musical and her mother was a great singer so who knows? John Burrows was Ellvis alias BTW.

I just finished Lisa's book and if Elvis were alive Prissy would be blasted like one of his television sets. I just am having a very hard time knowing that Elvis's only child was treated so so poorly by one nasty self centered "mother". Prissy never loved Elvis because she would have cherished his child but she was too busy with her boyfriends and world travel on Elvis's money! The more I find out about the Priss, the worse it gets. Lisa did not stand a chance because she had no one to protect her after her daddy died. Sad.

Hi Joe, just wanted to share that in the book "Elvis my brother"" by Billy Stanley...... Billy was in Graceland that day when the argument started between Elvis ,Vernon and Priscilla..... and Elvis decided to go alone to Washington. Billy was watching TV downstairs and heard all of it. He explains how first it was between Elvis and Vernon and later Priscilla also joined in. So according to Billy Stanley Priscilla definitely joined in on the argument.... which upset Elvis so much that he went away by himself to Washington.

I feel it's so disrespectful to try to discard this story. If Lucy's relationship with Elvis had been out in the open no-one would questing the book. Even Ginger wrote a book on her short time with Elvis. This book is Lucy's self-biography and as such should be treated respectfully. Her story also is amazing in it's own right! It's amazing to find out this side of Elvis and this is the missing piece in the puzzle. So much about Elvis was a mystery but now it makes a lot more sense!

Elvis saw Joyce Bova (8/16/69 - 2/72), after he met with Nixon on 12/21/70. (Confirmed also in "Elvis Day By Day") She stayed the night with him at the Hotel Washington. Elvis was registered under the name of Jon Burrows and stayed in his usual room--Room 506. Elvis would return to see Joyce B. 12/30-31/70. Elvis would shortly have an "Elvis hotline" installed in Joyce's home to make it easier for him to reach her. Prior to 12/70, the last time Elvis saw Joyce Bova was 8/70, when she attended one of Vegas shows. She was to stay the night, but they had an argument, and she walked out and returned to DC. Consequently, Elvis got mad and threw away her home number. On Elvis' return trip to DC on 12/21/70 with Jerry S., Elvis had Jerry S. calling around Congress to locate her. Once Jerry S. located her, Elvis got on the line. Elvis said, he was calling to “apologize” and wanted a chance to make things up to her. “I want the chance to make it up to you, now that my little girl forgives me." I guess Elvis flew out to CA to see a doctor because he wasn't feeling well. He told Joyce, "he had, “.... a bad reaction from some medicine that just irritated my eyes was all.” I'm not sure why he brought Jerry S. back with him to DC, EXCEPT to help him locate Joyce B. (I seem to remember that Elvis tried to locate her on his own, but was unable to do so.) According to Joyce, Elvis said, it was not until he was ON THE PLANE that he DECIDED to call Nixon. “Yeah, he continued, “it was when I was FLYIN' BACK here with Schilling that I got the idea.” After speaking to the Senator that onboard, Elvis sat down and wrote his letter to Nixon and also got the $500 from Jerry S. and gave it to the soldier who was on leave for Christmas. After work, Elvis sent a limo to pick up Joyce and her twin sister, Janice. Sonny W. opened the door. (At some point, Jerry S. called Sonny and told him to meet them in DC.) Jerry S. had already RETURNED to CA. Joyce asked, how long he had been in DC and Elvis said, “The FIRST TIME, a few days ago. But then I had to go to California." Elvis told her about the argument he had with his dad and Prissy. “I felt so down that I had to get away,” he said. “I knew I wanted to be with you, that I had to SEE YOU AGAIN.” “It wasn’t that easy a thing, either. I’d just walked out, ya see.” “I don’t think they, either one of ‘em, believed I could do that, you know? Just walk the hell out, all on my own. And get myself a ticket and take the damn flight right here to Washington, by myself.” “That was a few nights ago,” Elvis said, “but once I got here I could tell that finding you was gonna be a job for more than one man.” Elvis went on to tell them how he met and spoke with Finalator and President Nixon earlier that day. They were shocked, of course, because they couldn't believe that he was able to get an appointment with the President and meet with him all in the same day. (I wonder how Elvis went about getting $7000 to give to Lucy? Did he go to the bank himself? Who did he call? Would he actually ask his daddy after just having a huge fight over money?)
@RareElvisPhotos12 күн бұрын
Good write up. Lucy would have seen Elvis i believe the 19th- Then Elvis would have traveled to California. Where Elvis got the 7k... He may have brought it with him. One of those details that's very hard to know. He was more than capable of it, and that sounds like him, especially makes sense he had no money when he got to California.

What was said about the purple velvet suit?
@Maxie1969912 күн бұрын
The suit wasn't purple, it was black - the jacket is the SAME jacket he wore during one of the Medley's in the 68 Special, he wears it over his shoulders - no cape. The trousers and tunic is his Cossack suit from one of his live Vegas shows in 69. You can all keep telling yourselves it was a purple velvet suit - but it is FACTUALLY incorrect and I have email evidence from BK Enterprises that have confirmed it's the 68 Special jacket, designed by Bill Belew - they own his designs.

"Are you Lonesome Tonight" was. Not recorded with Lucy in mind, as this song is from 1936 and it was Colonel Parker's wife's favorite song, and gave it to Evis to record. Memories was a song written by Mac Davis and he wrote it, and he was trying to get Elvis to sing his. Music. And they weren't recorded. At one time as this book suggests. I posted that yesterday. Also, Shiela said in a video that sex was difficult with Elvis, as she said he had a a hang-up about getting a woman pregnant. Then today I read a piece on a recording session Elvis had in Nashville in 1970, Priscilla had never been to one, and she wanted to come, so Elvis has Priscilla in a sound room while he speaks with the band members. He told the band that he didn't want any crazy stuff like would usually happen because Priscilla is here "I love her dearly." So, I don't believe Elvis had anything going on with Lucy. Now, I know that this story is a croc of lies because when Elvis went to Washington D.C., he went with Sonny west and Jerry Schilling, and he had already met Joyce Bova, and he saw her. Lucy and the author have taken details out of Elvis book to validate this. This story proves it is not true. This woman is trying to validate herself with wrong facts. She has gotten details from Priscilla's book.Sonnny west and Jerry Schilling would have known about this woman, but they also said that Elvis had only one child. I read that when Elvis, Sonny West, and Jerry Schilling were going to the airport, and Elvis had only $500, and gave it to a soldier, and Jerry Schilling was upset about this because that was all the cash that he had.

Power of suggestion !!! All you people think she looks like him because you seem to want to believe this story so bad, but she actually has no similar features to him. All you're doing here is shit on Lisa Marie Presley 's memory with the pushing of this tale.

I think Elvis had a number of illegitimate children and Desiree was one of many. I just watched a video yesterday of a man called John Smith Presley who was born in 1961 and officially adopted by Gladys's brother and wife when he was 18mths old. He learned that Elvis was his father when he was 27 and his DNA confirms that. So Elvis was having multiple relationships with women at the same time, some of whom nothing is known of, but Lucy was possibly one woman that he did truly love

There’s only thing that has me a little bit concerned about the story. My concern has nothing to do with what Lucy has said. When the question about John Wayne having said or may have said something to Elvis about meeting Lucy. Dary said that he wished he thought of that when he wrote the book. If this book is true then why would he have to think up different scenarios. I understand creative control and of course you would want to make the story more interesting. 🤔 I do believe Lucy’s story. She is a very strong and selfless woman. Everything she did was for Elvis and everyone else in her life. Extremely common for a miscarriage during the first 3 months of pregnancy.
@RareElvisPhotos12 күн бұрын
I think deductive reasoning, would be one reason, he may have investigated the possibility if he thought of that as i did. Now he has nobody alive to research that possibility...he could have asked John O Grady, ect... Good thinking though colleen!
@GeeeWizzz12 күн бұрын
Hi @Colleenluiz. I love hearing everyone’s thoughts. Not sure what Dary meant…I took what Dary said about “wishing he thought of that” to mean he wished he would have asked John Wayne about it. But I’ve could be wrong and I’m not sure if it would have even been possible for Dary to ask him at the time. My timeline and sleuthing skills aren’t my strong suit. So, I could definitely be wrong in my assumption. Just figured I would add my thoughts to the conversation. Makes me feel like we’re in a virtual book club.😂😂 How incredibly lucky are we to have @RareElvisPhotos and Dary share their conversations with us. Hoping he can tell us what he meant. It’s been so much fun “reading” this book as a group and sharing thoughts about it with everyone. Thanks Joe & Dary for doing all you do. 💕💕

I think your singing is great! Can you tell me why there is no mention of Ann Margaret, Kathy Westmorland, Linda Thomson or Ginger Alden who he was with for nine month and who he was engaged to? These were all serious relationship that must have overlapped with Lucy. I don't doubt Lucy's story but I feel there must have been a lot of lies and denial in their relationship.

Iread this book , many many years ago,why all of a sudden has it become a topic of conversation now, ibelieve lucy did know Elvis back in 1953 up untill 1958, but after that im not so sure, and just for the records, i think desiree is spitting image of her mother, and lisa marie is defiantly like elvis, the story is very confusing in a lot of areas, so how are we to know true or not only elvis knows, if only the dead could speak eh😊
@RareElvisPhotos9 сағат бұрын
I definitely appreciate your comment. Well there’s handwriting experts that say that Lucy got a poem from Elvis in the 70s and that Elvis Presley enterprises won’t let them release it.. so there’s that. As for Lisa being the spitting image of Elvis and Desiree being the spitting image of her mother, I actually wouldn’t say that. I think that there’s something else. I believe Lisa looks very much like her daddy and Desiree looks very much like her father and her mother. It’s pretty crazy how DNA is and children don’t always look like one or the other. It doesn’t mean not that they are not a child. Everybody gives a supernatural ability to make his kids his twin, but that’s not the truth in life.

Elvis wanted to be a serious actor but that's not what happened as the Colonel just wanted to have money coming in. I think Elvis was loyal to the Colonel and his loyalty was to money. If Elvis had toured Europe in the 1950's he would've made a lot of money, but that never happened unfortunately

(Once again) -The outfit wasn't purple, it was black - the jacket is the SAME jacket he wore during one of the Medley's in the 68 Special, he wears it over his shoulders - no cape. The trousers and tunic are his Cossack suit from one of his live Vegas shows in 69. You can all keep telling yourselves it was a purple velvet suit - but it is FACTUALLY incorrect and I have email evidence from BK Enterprises that have confirmed it's the 68 Special jacket, designed by Bill Belew and that it is indeed BLACK - they own his designs.

They have it wrong at graceland- official white house records and EVERY PERSON there that day- said it was purple? Every single account of that day- records wise and personal accounts.

@@RareElvisPhotos - No they don't, the book is wrong and so are you. Elvis is wearing the same jacket in the 68 special. Watch it and SEE! Also, as I have posted above, Lucy claims to have read all about Elvis meeting Nixon a few days later but the story remained a secret until broken by the Washington Post in Jan of 1972 - over a YEAR later!

Not sure if anyone has said as much but; Has anyone considered that EP's cousin, and I reckon closest confidante, Billy Smith would have to know is Lucy/Desiree is true??
@RareElvisPhotos12 күн бұрын
Billy was too young, Dary Sourced Gene smith as mentioning her I believe and in the last episode John O Grady had desiree on his list of girls to put through if there was a call.

Billy wouldn't know, he's said he didn't know all the ladies Elvis was with, he had not even heard the name Joyce Bova or anything about the one in Biloxi. Elvis was 8 years older than Billy and there was a period that Billy works for the railroad. After Billy and Jo started their family Billy wasn't on every tour.
