Elvis Andrus Walk Out Song "Baby Shark" versus Chicago Cubs on Opening Week (March 31, 2019)

The 2019 MLB season is now in full swing, and one player is making sure his son is all smiles when he walks to the plate.
Elvis Andrus of the Texas Rangers picked the viral “Baby Shark” song as his walk-up music for games at GlobeLife Park this season and will keep it as long as it doesn’t result in bad luck, of course.
“It’s my at-bats, it’s my song, I can do anything I want,” Andrus told MLB.com. “I am very superstitious, if it gets a hit every day, I am going to keep it. If I don’t get any hits, it might not be up there. Hopefully, it will be the song I hit well with.”
Andrus said he was swayed into choosing the tune because of his two-year-old son, Emilio Elvis.
“It’s awesome, it’s my boy’s favorite song,” he told Fox Sports.
He added to Dallas News: “It reminds me of my son and gets me where I want to be for an at-bat… You will get used to it. I did.”
The kids’ song shot up the charts late last year thanks to a music video that sees a little boy and girl singing and dancing along to its repetitive-sounding lyrics while they tell the story of a family of sharks - a baby, mommy, daddy, grandma and grandpa - who hunt and avoid danger together. The video was originally uploaded to KZbin in 2016 by an educational brand from South Korea.
Ahead of the Christmas holiday, a line of plush “Baby Shark” toys by WowWee sold out on Amazon, prompting third-party sellers to put them up for grabs at astounding markup prices.
Andrus said that while the song is for his son, he hopes it also has another effect: annoying pitchers.
“That would be nice. I heard people clapping [Monday] when I came up, so that is cool and would be good in a big situation,” the told the Dallas News. “Hopefully they will be clapping and maybe it’s for the song, but I’ll think it’s for me. It will give me some good energy.”
Andrus made his debut with the song during an exhibition game against the Cleveland Indians. The Rangers faced the Chicago Cubs for Opening Day on Thursday.
