You know what I think? The Attractions are playing the Imperial BR version of the song and he's playing the song he originally wrote. I was at several shows on the IBR tour and it was all like that. Disappointing. First time I saw EC w/Attractions live and they were bad.

@@robotubetwob Wow, you saw him on the IBR tour? Man, that LP changed my life... so GD fucking orchestral. What arrangements. Funny, growing up in the American Midwest (St. Louis) in the 80s, bands - esp. those from England - habitually passed us over in favor of Chicago and MPLS. I remember desperately wanting to attend the Blood & Chocolate shows in Chicago but I was in high school and had no idea how to get there!

Saw them in '82 before the brass. Was masterful! 35 songs. Elvis and the band were battling terribly afterwards with the inequity of pay to the conbo. It's killed so many great partnerships. :(

In 82, they were as tight as any quartet ever. Afterwards, the combo felt sleighted with pay inequality. A great partnership and friendship was killed. Added brass next tour, and backup singers followed

elvis is a great musician. but this seems rushed and spluttered and splodged. hes maybe the phase of coasting between zestful artistic talent and middle aged mature handling? God speed anyway
