There were mementos of Elvis’s special connection with the prisoners, the last time I visited ☀️ studio. In some ways Elvis was “ incarcerated “ by the trash that was written about him. He was a kind and decent man, but it’s always the “flip side”!that is presented to us most of the time.thank you for this one Scotty, a beautiful poignant story.

God bless the beautiful man that was Elvis Presley. Some people are so very jealous that they have to lie to promote themselves. Elvis was a good, kind man who judged on what people did and how people treat others, nothing else. Great men are always targeted by pathetic ones.

THESE ARE THE REASONS WE LOVE ELVIS. His heart WAS GOLD. This made me cry. I sent it to my sister & she cried. Poor Elvis, he gave so much and so many failed him in the end. Always one to do what his Savior asked of him. He wanted to spend Eternity with his creator and his Momma 💋 he only wanted to make them both proud. What a great human. 🙌

Very sad that BLM defaced his property disrespectfully. Regardless how great a Human being Elvis was, there will always be misunderstanding in one Community towards him due to misinformation from certain people. Jealousy is a Poison. Not everyone likes a person regardless of your good deeds. The funny thing is the bads, the evils and the nonsense against him out there just made him IMMORTAL, ICONIC, G.O.A.T. KING and his LEGACY lives on around the world for this kind, gifted and HUMBLE man ELVIS PRESLEY.☮️🌈
@jennytmaher3 жыл бұрын
I suspect that it wasn't BLM who were responsible for the vandalism. As well as BLM, there was a quote associated with Qanon, and no BLM person would have painted that. I think that it was put there by people wanting to make BLM look bad.

Thanks for the shout out at the end Scotty! Much appreciated. I'm proud of you ... and your brother as well. as we often discuss there are a number of little-known stories like this. Not enough people over the years have cared enough to dig into stories like these. They've been documented and out there for many years...but for some reason great stories like these just seem to stay hidden under the radar. Johnny's book and his personal Recollections have been out in public Arena for many years. The Elvis Community is just as responsible as non-Elvis people, for not doing more over the years, to give events like this the serious attention that they deserve ...as you mentioned. I really don't have enough words to tell you how much I appreciate you covering this. You did magnificent job. I think Johnnie & Elvis would be very moved by the treatment you and your brother gave in your video, to their story. And yes, as you said, we will continue doing more and more of this in the future. I'm thankful do you have friends like you and your brother on board with helping get these type of things out there. 💜TCB⚡

Thank you so much Scotty for doing this video. Sadly the people who believe this horrible lie about Elvis will probably never seek out these kind of stories. It doesn't really matter though because there are millions of fans who know that Elvis was kind to EVERYONE, no matter color, creed, gender, etc etc. It seems to me that because they will never reach the achievements that Elvis has, they have to try to bring him down. We all know that will never happen. Elvis is and always will be the greatest entertainer of all time! 😊❤️

Isn't it amazing..you could attribute a thousand stories to Mr Presley on a thousand subjects. Race and colour is a deep deep one. ELVIS grew up in the deep South, not only poor but dirt poor, a thing that most of us would never experience in our homogeneous lives..I believe he was of colour and he came from colour and he had a deep respect for these people as he did for all people..it's clear for anybody to see...you don't sing coloured spirituals lightly, you have deep respect for this type of music and these people otherwise it doesn't work, Elvis knew this....as for Scotty and Bro this is your best work to date..why..because I truly believe you truly believe, your digging down below the surface to uncover the real Elvis Presley for us..it's an amazing story about an amazing guy..more more more

Wow Scot and Craig, this sure packed one hell of a punch, and was the ultimate proof Elvis only ever saw the person never the person,s colour. Johnny was a Human being and Elvis treat him as one, without judgement nor scorn. Elvis transcended every divide, his humanitarian principles never failed him. From being a very small child Elvis saw first hand the oppression and unkindness that people of colour had to endure. he simply could not comprehend how anyone should be subjected to such actions, he himself never stooped to those levels, and these stories prove that. An 18 year old lad, being apart of something very special in so many ways, a chance meeting he would never forget. The word's, He Ain't Heavy He,s My Brother, comes to mind here. Heart warming to know of the friendship Elvis and Johnny formed, ironic to think of how different yet how alike their lives were also, probably the link that formed the bond between them. No doubt Elvis himself thought, there but for the grace of God, that Johny,s plight could easily have been him. Elvis clearly wanted to make sure that Johnny had the best representation to end his plight and incarceration. . If Elvis felt he could help anyone in any way , he would. These are the stories , the true stories that need to be known and told about Elvis, the real Elvis, how he treat others as he wanted to be treat himself, with respect, compassion and the utmost empathy. Great upload lads, both moving yet uplifting at the same time.

This has really touched my heart because I’ve never believed Elvis was prejudiced, toward anybody regardless of their race, color of their skin, poor or wealthy. He was a very humble and loving person. I appreciate you standing up for him. Elvis isn’t here to defend himself., I believe His Mom, along with raising him in church, instilled in him something that brought out the love, generosity, and humility from which he never strayed.

There are a few young black Utube apps that play Elvis music now, but most followers are us fans that are already fans. But they are now wanting to know more of Elvis history and finding out they were lied to about Elvis being a racist. I wish they could know this story! What makes me mad is it was a white man that published a black magazine that started the rumor in the first place! All to make money! Elvis was very hurt by it!

Johnny Ray had a huge hit with this song, No. 1 in UK for 7 weeks, and No. 2 in US in 1956 at height of Elvis’ chart domination. His career was basically derailed by rock-n-roll. He did a funny appearance on Shower of Stars where he sings the song in the rain and ducks into a record store to get out of the rain, and every record booth he goes into is playing a different Elvis song.

Very socially educational piece whilst once again chipping away at a growing spurious view being perpetrated online painting Elvis as a racist! Elvis never defended himself of any criticism as he knew who he was and he once said in an early career interview. Not everyone will like you whoever you are. And some people will try and take their dislike further! Johnny Bragg and Elvis were two good ol boys from the South who appreciated the struggles they both respectively endured!

Thank you for this Scotty for sharing this very touching story it was very timely I also read the comments by a certain legendary producer and arranger and was quite frankly disgusted by his comments as to why he had not worked with Elvis and surely this guy is completely uninformed about Elvis and the love he had for all people. I have been a fan for over 50 years and I have never heard this story but thank you for this and once again last weeks Tipplers story which I still have not got over Amazing Carl

Thanks for this video. This goes way beyond just Elvis fans backing “our man.” There is this continuation of taking things or people that made huge societal influences and not just “canceling” them but demonizing them so that a select few can try to manipulate the narrative.

Thank you guys, what a great story and video. I hadn’t heard that story before. We all know that Elvis was never a racist. He did not have a racist bone in his body. It is not how his momma brought him up, his best friend in Tupelo was black! Ellie 🎼🎵🎶🕺🏻🙂
