"Bossanova Baby" was recorded by Elvis on 22 January 1963 at Radio Recorders Studio B in Hollywood and in doing so was Elvis' first recording of the year. Completed in eleven takes "Bossanova Baby" would be edited before insertion into the movie and as a result would be thirteen seconds shorter than the RCA master version. The edits would include the removal of the instrumental solo, although a couple of the "Ya Ya" shouts from "The Amigo's" can still be heard where the edit was made, and the last "Bossanova, Bossanova" would also be repeated an extra couple of times.

Best song and scene from the movie Fun In Acapulco. The movie took place in Mexico but was shot entirely in Hollywood! The only thing I don't like about this movie version is that it is shorter than the studio version, leaving out a very cool instrumental section. And the answer to your question is Heartbreak Hotel, his first release for RCA and first charted hit (making it all the way to #1). He had released five singles on the Sun Records label, but because of their regional distribution, none of them charted nationally. They were all later reissued on RCA after Elvis found success there and charted at that time. BTW, I like your new video open!
