That's a very good description of this film. Only a few songs in this film but quality ones including A Little Less Conversation. A brief cameo also from Elvis' Dad Vernon. In my top 5 Elvis films of the 60s.

60's, the movie era of Elvis. Elvis was used in movies in the 50's and 60's because of his fame, but I'm so glad he stopped that and started 1970 with his passion: giving live shows, until the very end.

A dream sequence from one of Elvis's better movies...his co-star the lovely and sexy Michele Carey (who left us Nov. 2018) is the one driving Elvis up a wall in the film...Footnote: A musician/friend from Australia Joe Var Veri covers this song beautifully with just his guitar...in fact he covers Elvis songs unlike anyone I've ever heard before...he puts a fresh coat of paint on Elvis songs...he really brings them up to date...

You are blinded by your fandom. Any objective listener would say that Roy's version was superior. Elvis acknowledged that Roy was a better singer. Have you noticed that Elvis didn't attempt to do Roy's biggest hits? That's because Elvis would not have been able to improve upon them.

Edge of reality is a great song from a very good comedy Elvis was great in this movie the early 60s and around this time he was in the best shape of his career 1968 to 70 definitely had the Charisma and talent to play James Bond this movie gives hints of that in many ways if it Elvis took better care of himself he definitely could have looks exactly like this in 1977 anyhow 1968 was a great year for Elvis edge of reality is definitely a Elvis classic and should be more known this was Elvis when Elvis was Elvis not the last show 1977 edge of reality rocks

Cute movie. It's a dream sequence and ya she's making him nuts. His suit was on point but Elvis didn't fit in with the hippie type music
@RobinMarkowitzcoolmedia5 жыл бұрын
I doubt many hippies at the time would have considered it hippie music. 😁 But, whoever wrote it, well, they tried. They did their best. Elvis would return to live performance very soon, and I bet a LOT of real hippies bought "From Elvis In Memphis." Or, maybe 20 years later, they did. Doesn't matter. He was soon to be King again!

@@joannedungan8381 Oh, since I wandered in here, one more thing. The filmmakers didn't even know how to do a simple psychedelic effect. The trick they used at festivals was super easy. On a very small area, you swish several colors of paint around, with a lot of water to keep it moving. Then they'd get a mirror that pointed the image of the small bit of swirling paint toward the crowd. Then they put up an inexpensive enlarging screen. Boom! Psychedelia! Cost like $15 at the most. In the film, they are pointing pastel strobe lights at him. Which is why it looks kinda weird. But, hey, they tried! Elvis was glad to be in an grown-up film where they could discuss real relationship stuff. It's a lot of fun. And has the best fight scene of any of his pictures! It looked to me like he and Red were really going at it! Sonny jumped out of their way at one point. I have watched that scene in slo-mo many times over the years.

After the 50's Elvis hated having to sing in his movies. He wanted to be a serious actor but they made him sing so they could make $$$$$$$ off of ticket sales and soundtrack albums at the same time. Sadly Elvis was nothing but a cash cow to his manager and his record label RCA.

Elvis's voice was strong in this one. But it's not in my top 500 Elvis songs. Michelle Carey (who died late last year within a period where her mother, father and son died just before her) played Bernice in the movie. The character she portrayed was a strange one --sure to frustrate, if not discombobulate anyone.

Basically this song is elvis in a having a dream about a woman that tells each person her name is different from next person he hears different people call her different names gets him all confused falls asleep and has the dream basic jist to it anyways but take forever explaining it probably I got the movie and its actually a pretty good movie especially for a late elvis with all them bad scripts hollywood kept giving him that even elvis didn't like.

Very obscure Elvis movie (unless you own it on DVD). But Elvis did some pretty decent comedic acting in this movie. It also had a more adult story line. I think Elvis even enjoyed making this movie since he did get to do more acting than singing in this one.

Omg! You are stuck with influences like a movie sound track etc. You started off well. Actually seemed to get the song and actually seemed to like it. Then you read MOVIE Soundtrack and that the track was penned by someone else. Elvis was not a song writer, he was a singer 🙄.... I would have loved to have just heard your interpretation of the song, not your thoughts on the production facts..... Ahh come on, everyone can't do everything!. Elvis was a great singer and performer and as for acting watch the movie King Creole,, 😉
