Breakfast in the late afternoon, early evening, happens all the time when you're living on what I like to call "MST" (Musician Standard Time). It just kinda comes with the life style.

The Memphis mafia has been with Elvis since the 50s up until his passing, they were closer to him than his own wife Priscilla👍

In these clips you find Red West (obviously the one with the red hair) who became Elvis' friend after having "saved" him from getting beat up in high school because some boys did not like Elvis' long hair and the way he dressed. Next to him, with the beard and the pony tail, is his cousin Delbert "Sonny" West. Both of them not only befriended Elvis back in the 1950's but became his bodyguards, too. The overweight man with the grey hair and beard was Lamar Fike, who handled Elvis' stage lighting, and the smaller man with the mustache is Billy Smith, Elvis' first cousin, the son of Elvis' mother Gladys Presley's oldest brother. He is the one talking about Elvis' mood swings, which were largely caused by his prescription drug addiction, sadly enough. The man in the brown shirt with the beard and glasses is Marty Lacker. Elvis lived his life upside down, in part because if he'd go around during the daytime, he could not go anywhere as people went all crazy once they spotted him. At his most popular, Elvis sometimes had to leave his house in the trunk of his car, because there were always scores of fans standing and waiting outside the gate of his house hoping to catch sight of him. So, that's why he slept through most of the day and was awake from late afternoon, early evening well into the early morning.

Elvis lived in Memphis from again 14 to 42. The Memphis Mafia consisted of one cousin, several guys that went to high school with him, people he met in the army, and others that just came through the years. Not all the men were there all at the same time. Some came and went through the years. This cut together from different interviews. These men loved Elvis like a brother. There is video of these same interviews in which they tell great stories of generosity. They fail to tell the end of the McDonalds coupon story. It was a practical joke. He handed an envelope afterward with cash to each man.

I take everything people say with a healthy dose of salt because Elvis is no longer around to confirm or deny the stories told about him.

A lot( most) of these stories are true and confirmed by his cousin Billy.

Elvis died in 1977 and these guys are telling these stories around 1990. The Memphis Mafia worked for Elvis and were friends of Elvis. 3 of the Memphis Mafia had gone to high school with Elvis, and a few he met in the Army.

Don't confuse the word "mafia" with the Italian "mob" characters. It's just a term that got attached to the group of guys that hung around with Elvis. Some of them actually worked for him, others were just friends or whatever.
