Incredible! Elvis always had that 'look'. He always stood apart from the rest. It was as if there was no other route for him to take but the one we all know him for. Great video...

I spent the day in Memphis in '92, met a guy at the coffee shop who said he played football with Elvis, thought he was fibbing but after seeing this I believe it. He might be on these pics. Great job !

Jerry Shilling played football with Elvis, but don't know if any of the guys would be him or not. He was younger, but evidently a good player that Elvis kept him on his team. Or at least that is what Jerry Shilling says in his book. Interesting and so fun to know that some of the houses are still there. You are the best at finding these places Billy and it lets us visually put the puzzle together. Love it!

fantastic video, really love these "before and now" series you do. Elvis playing football may seem trivial to some, but to me it is a great way to see Elvis being a regular guy doing fun stuff. It is just great to see where it all happened at. Keep up the good work, next time I come to Memphis I am going to make it a point to drive by all these places you are showing. thanks again spa guy.

Such wonderful and amazing photos of Elvis. You truly have some treasures there. Thank yiu for going that extra mile to find those and this place. I've always windered about it. Even if you didnt know who the kid was in those photos you just would have to have a feeling of greatnes from him. The ine picture where you can see his fingers and hand , ys just know he would have been a piano or guitar player and he did. Thank you so much and a special thanks to whoever showed you the photos. I'm smiling so big right now! Amazing!!

I've seen comments criticizing you and Trey for these videos. I love them. Like the houses across the street. In Memphis its a miracle they are still standing. Great video Spa Guy ❤ Elvis had a lot going on that year, in 1957, one year later his mother passed, making him a broken man and I think that changed him because I believe his mother kept him in line also with girls and all. He was really a sportive guy, also in his fourties you could see him playing football in Hawaï.

Great photos. That is exactly where I saw Elvis playing football when I was a kid. This was known as Guthrie Park. Guthrie Elementary was there at the time. My grandmother lived close by on Kney Street. My cousins came running into the house shouting, "Elvis is in the park!" I didn't really know who he was, but I ran along. Everyone was watching him toss a football.

Cool ! Man..great investigative work Spa Guy ! Interesting at this time just before dating Dorothy 'Dottie' Harmony, he was also briefly seeing Marilyn Evans another Vegas show girl at the beginning of Dec '56...he also took her back home, she was present at the Million Dollar quartet session..he was also dating Barbara Hearn then at this time his steady girlfriend. She was hugely upset that Elvis turned up for Christmas with Dottie, as you can imagine ! He tried to make it up to her, the gold Lame vest that Barbara had made for him, he wore prominently on the Sullivan show in Jan '57.. He was a busy boy..

According to a map of Memphis, this would be Guthrie Park, as mentioned on page 1 of Jerry Schilling's book, Me and a Guy Named Elvis". Some of the buildings at this present location were probably not there in 1954-58. I'm amazed you were able to find these pictures. But as you said, by 1956 Elvis was famous and certainly there would have been people with cameras at these pickup games.
