This is a very nice Pop song by Elvis from his first album after his service in the Army. Music was more simple back then. You are right that this song has a good tempo and good melody. I understand what you mean about the lyrics.It seems like it speaks about relationships bouncing back and forth. Songs back then were mostly written about love found and love lost and broken relationships and things like that.

This is an album track from Elvis Is Back, recorded right after he got out of the Army in 1960. Check out Soldier Boy from the same album...his voice is fabulous. Same sessions produced Stuck On You, Mess Of Blues, Are You Lonesome Tonight, It's Now Or Never, Reconsider Baby, Such A Night, & Fame and Fortune. Elvis Is Back (1960) and From Elvis In Memphis (1969) are probably his two best studio albums.

This was actually recorded by another artist around the same or slightly earlier time. His name is Ral Donner. Check him out. He almost sounds more like Elvis on some of his recordings than Elvis does! Not really, but he did do good songs.
