Elvis recorded Danny O`Keefe`s only hit (he took it to #9 in 1972) at Stax Studios on December 13, 1973. It was released on his Good Times album. Elvis sang the song live in concert in the summer of 1974, though at the time of writing it has only appeared on bootlegs.
An alternate take from the studio came out in 1998 on Essential Elvis, Volume 5. The song featured on Nineties anthology Walk A Mile In My Shoes, 2000 re-released album Promised Land and on 2006 BMG release Elvis Country.
